Writing "teams"
Although the entire group of writers breaks down the story of each season and episode, there seem to be "teams" among the writers: a regular pair of writers that often co-write episodes together. Such example might be:
- Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse ("Deus Ex Machina"), ("Live Together, Die Alone"), ("The Brig")
- Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis ("Everybody Hates Hugo"), ("Three Minutes"), ("Tricia Tanaka Is Dead")
- Elizabeth Sarnoff and Christina M. Kim ("The Hunting Party"), ("Two for the Road"), ("Stranger in a Strange Land")
- Drew Goddard and Brian K. Vaughan ("Confirmed Dead"), ("The Shape of Things to Come")
The episodes each "team" writes usually have some themes in common; Damon and Carlton's episodes are usually significant to the overall story, being either a season premiere or finale, or presenting a major plot twist.
