re: Pearl Orientation Video

Hehe, I couldn't resist capping that orientation film. I find those films quite fascinating! --Jambalaya 12:01, 12 May 2006 (PDT)

Pictures

No, I just searched Google. I wish I lived in Hawaii though. masterscot 5:05, 14 May 2006 (CDT)

Sig

Look at User:Jabrwocky7/sig as an example. Then call it like a template when using it: {{User:Jabrwocky7/sig}}.

Award

Oh, WOW!!! Thank you! I'm beyond flattered and speechless. I'm just doing my best to make sure LostPedia is the best Lost resource out there. Thanks for the encouragement and appreciation =D --Tebor 15:25, 17 May 2006 (CST)

Hi, there. Remember you told me about a special Sysop infobox? I would like to see your proposal, we've been discussing about implementing user awards adn so far we think it's agreat idea. I would love to read what you have in mind. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --15:26, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

thanks!! :D just what i need to give me that last burst of energy in finishing manual of style, preferences help, and making that economics article less like a textbook! --kaini. 09:36, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Polar Bear

As I said in the talkpage for this template: The use of this template will only be optinal, some sysops will want to remain in the shadows, but we need figureheads for users to reach in case of disputes, vandalis, etc. I am amused for the election of the polar bear, but I'm sure there are neutral options (in opposition to show off options. )†††GodEmperorOfHell††† --17:37, 21 May 2006 (PDT)

Things to make and do.

We've already had discussions about the creation of forums and community portals, that is one of the many things in the to do list. Meanwhile we explore a plausible solution the talkpages for hot topics are pretty relevant. One of the cons of having forums is OOT (out of topic) discussion. I caught some users speaking aboout Nirvana (and not the religious term)and that's ok because they use their respective talk pages. the time for a major restructuring is not at hand yet, that'll be the eve of season three, when we will have rumours and speculation galore. Regarding the Sysop template i like it small and unobstrusive as it is. WE will have to find a symbol for sysop. That reminds me when I created the Fanon template, I wanted something to represent a fan and I ended up using a fan. it is so adequate nobody has complained or celebrated it . Maybe a dharma logo? some reference to the operation of a hatch? The air tube? †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --04:26, 22 May 2006 (PDT)

Canonicity

I'm actually thinking about creating an article that details what's canon and what's not, or as I call it; 'That Star Trek-like topic'. The Lost Experience, The Lost Diaries, Janelle Granger's diary, The Novels, Gary Troup's Bad Twin and The Episodes are endorsed by ABC and the writers, therefore it's canon, everything discussed and confirmed in the Official Lost podcast by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse is canon (I know, that would make the Zombie Season and the mapinguari canonical). Fan ranting and theories are fanon, as everything that discusses Dharma recruiters, Nanobots, Bad Twins (clones) and the Others' links to the outside world. However Bigspaceshipone, The Valenzetti Equation. S. K. Nave, The Goblet and Initiative Classificationshas been debunked as non-canon and handled accordingly. I fear the day we discuss whether the feature film LOST V: Island of the Dead is canon or not.
I see no reason to have Novel Canon, ARG Canon and Show Canon, as they don't contradict each other, unless explicitly said by the producers or the writers and that would be horrible.
That or they have to use Joop to explain every mystery in a four page script when the show is cancelled. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† --07:36, 22 May 2006 (PDT)

U-matic

The linked article at http://www.labguysworld.com/JVC-CP-5000.htm says he sold the specific unit pictured to the producers of Lost for use as a prop on the show (scroll down, it's after all the photos, under "Update"). The CyberSlug 07:32, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

SAG page

Sorry, my bad. I noticed that you'd plagiarized a great deal from Wikipedia for the articles on ABC and Disney, however the SAG article was not plagiarism and I shouldn't have redirected to Wikipedia. XSG 18:32, 30 May 2006 (PDT)

-as noted in your talk, "plagiarism" is willful misrepresentation of authorship. Wikipedia is, by definition, open-source content. Therefore your use of "plagiarism" is inaccurate, or even an example of trolling. However as per talk, Lost-specific information only has been retained on these articles since it is undesirable to reproduce wikipedia content, and these articles have now been stubbed. Significant Lost-specific information is out there regarding these topics, and of interest to the users of a Lost encyclopedia. Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk

Regarding the articles.

To be honest, we need the entries on companies that are directly involved with LOST, ABC, Disney and SAG need more than just a link to Wikipedia, if more research could be done on how they were appreoached, you know, more LOST specific info. But mobisode, it-s just a definition, that article could easily be merged with the LOST video diaries without a problem. This is no place to put definitions, many articled get deleted because of that. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 19:33, 30 May 2006 (PDT)

Regarding Hanso Foundation article

oops my bad. I did think it was weird that The Hanso Foundation didnt already have a page =/. Oh well. Unsigned comment made by Katosepe

Will do on the commisary thing...

Wanted to point out that there's another picture on Charlie's page also. --Circeus UTCE 20:25, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

Canon.

I love it. First; I'm gonna move it to Lostpedia:Canon and then mark it as policy in progress, then we can do exactly what we did with the theory policy, polish it until it's done. Yesterday I created the deuterocanon template in hope to define one of those gray areas you have marked in the article. I personally think that canon should not get complicated at all, deuterocanon is a bad idea and I know it, but it's time to see what can be done about it. In the past the canonicity discussion has arisen so often I call it 'That Star Trek discussion', because Star Trek is famous for having different levels and timelines that contradict each other. I don't want that happening here at all. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 19:30, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

the more the merrier on this one - i think this one is more black and white than theory policy, so with a bit of luck people should be able to create a really good page really easily on this. great idea. :) kaini. 19:31, 9 June 2006 (PDT)

Screencap Request

Was wondering if you could help me on something cause you seem to have screencapping capability whilst whenever I try it doesn't work with LOST dvds. I'm trying to get a picture for Music Box and was just wondering if I could be really cheeky and ask if you could see what you could do....(I've looked all over the web for an image but can't find one). No worries if you're busy etc. Thanks very much for your time --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:15, 12 July 2006 (PDT)

Not a problem, I actually found one (just very poor quality) but its better than nothing. Thanks anyway --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:50, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

Actually, if you don't mind, there is something from Season 2 I want to get, and it will go towards trivia in an article I wanna create. In episode Fire+Water, John is seen exiting the Swan through a shed door (like that of the Arrow), but then in ?, Michael stumbles out at the beginning of metal doors like on the Staff. Is it possible you could get comparison shots? I'm gonna search some screencap sites but they're usually poor quality. Anything you can do would be great, but once again, if you're busy or don't wanna its not a problem at all --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:51, 17 July 2006 (PDT)

Umlaut-a-rama

I fixed the character being used in the page Waikäne Pier to the "long a" kahoko form (see ā) but for some reason, the redirects I added take an extra click to link there. Not sure why.

Also, I reset the linking pages to use the correct character for the name.

the season 3 page

just to give you a heads up; all the spoilers are being compiled at Season_3/prespoilers - once that's somewhat finished i'm gonna remove them from the main page and just leave a link. i'll probably do it later tonight. --kaini. 12:23, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

well at the moment it's Season 3/prespoilers... it should probably be the other one, for consistencies sake - we can always get it moved as the page takes shape. there's a link on the season 3 page under What We Know / News on the Upcoming Season --kaini. 12:39, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

Emmys not Oscars

I'm not suprised that LOST got stiffed for the Oscar's because they are for movies. Might want to fix your write-up to refer to the Emmy Awards.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 15:07, 3 August 2006 (PDT)

I emailed the author of that article about the error...we'll see if it gets corrected. Either way, there might be more well-written article we could use as a source.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 15:35, 3 August 2006 (PDT)

Nice Detective Work

Hey nice workings for Sora Jung, I try to research each one as best I can but at the moment am just trying to do every cast person still without a page (I promised a long time ago I'd try to and damn it I shall lol). Thanks for the added info, I'd love it if you could do the same quality for some of the other peeps I'm doing/have done today --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:37, 15 August 2006 (PDT)

Thanks. My aim is to take out all of Season 1 - I don't have the resources to do Season 2 (I've found I've need official scripts and my dvds to trace some of the guest star's identities and characters). After that I'm gonna work on stub pages maybe, I feel like I've contributed to them heavily by doing the guest stars. What is it like over 400 now or something lol? Big job. Good we're on the same page though with our editing, its nice to know I'm on the right lines. All the best --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:48, 15 August 2006 (PDT)
Yeah I think its true for "woman" in the pilot ep, can't find her anywhere!!! I agree the cast should be split though yes for the guests. And I'll try and do more of the cast pages this week but its results day tomorrow so I plan a drunken few days! --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:11, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
Lol you finished em yet, talk about a job! --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:40, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
Awesome, just hope peeps will use the correct new template for Season 3. I'll keep my eyes out and try to enforce it --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:48, 16 August 2006 (PDT)

Emma & Zack

Left you an answer to your q over in their actor profiles. --PandoraX 17:11, 16 August 2006 (PDT)

If I ran into anyone, even a guest actor relative, I would probably start blubbering like an idiot... "OMG, squeee!" We really are some pretty psycho fans of the show. :) --PandoraX 05:30, 17 August 2006 (PDT)

Guest Stars

Hey Santa, wanna profile every guest star actor wimme? We could just wage war right here right now and do every actor on the episode lists! Then it'll make life a lot easier finding the actual characters in the future. I think we need to get this done, cause right now other Lost wikis have better guest star sections than us (shock horror!) --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:03, 19 August 2006 (PDT)

I have something to go on "GitsieGirl" - she's got a site that I noticed a while ago (can't member the exact link) but her work was very good. I'll look for her site again --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:49, 19 August 2006 (PDT)

Links to wanted pages

Hello Santa, Just to ask if you could unlink the red links at the bottom of your user page and you could use italics or quotation marks instead? Helps keep the wanted pages list shorter for us red link hunters. (And makes it less likely that someone might actually create them by mistake.) Thanks. Cheers 16:58, 23 August 2006 (PDT)

Thanks

Oh shit your right it is the W201 my bad--CaptainInsano 13:14, 24 August 2006 (PDT)
It hard to tell but I think it is the W201. It was just a more popular car that W126.--CaptainInsano

Edit Awards

Whats with these number of edits thing, is it just an idea you're proposing? How far up are you gonna go? I fear you'll have to regulate it lol --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:03, 26 August 2006 (PDT)

Yeah. Its cool cause I've never actually stopped to count ya know. But apparently I'm over 2000 which is rather respectable I think --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:10, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
I'd just leave it at 10k anyway, they'll be a couple over it but you can't make it go as high as one person, its just categories to fulfill --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:14, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
Done your edit box thingys on my page. Need another one now just to align it with the text better! Also, do you know 100 and 200 are the same colors? --Nickb123 (Talk) 04:25, 26 August 2006 (PDT)

Music

Article task list complete

I have now carefully viewed through all episodes of Lost, and I have listed all music that are not yet identified. At least I think I've got them all... ;-) So now there is only the hard work left to identify them all. I will add audio samples from the episodes with the unidentified music later. I have some friend that will help with the identification, but if you or someone else want to help it would be nice. I will also make the changes to the article (Renaming "Musicians"...)that we discussed earlier. / Dreamingtree72 16:10, 6 October 2007 (PDT)

Coconut by Harry Nilsson

I think that the song "Coconut" by "Harry Nilsson" (The Long Con, s02e13) would fit better in the new section that we discussed. My opinion is that Hurley only "refers to", not sings, this song. What do you think? /Dreamingtree72 16:10, 6 October 2007 (PDT)
