Article pieces

• I see you made prototypes for separating parts of Jack Shephard and Nicknames. Just wanted to let you know that I think we don't need to make ones for Nicknames as crossrefs can be created like this <small>("[[The Brig]]")</small> to get ("The Brig"), though the ones on Jack's article are really needed. Also I'm thinking that a banner should be made to indicate that it's only a sub-article and to cover the "Return to..." sign at the top of he article similar to the one used on theory pages.-- Orhan94  Talk  Contribs  13:37, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Automobiles

• What is going on with the automobiles page? Currently you have created subpages that contain entirely redundant information taken verbatim from the main article so now there are two versions of the same article, and it has been that way for over a month. • Whatever the edit history between you and other editors, it remains that there is duplicate information, which is not acceptable in that it is not clear which version is "current." Therefore it remains that we will revert the article (and delete subpages) unless this is resolved in discussion. Also on the discussion page, you apparently made a "major" change after giving only four days for discussion, which is typically quite insufficient for consensus. Also the motivation for the major change is not clearly explained: Is the issues avoiding scrolling (which visually could be interesting for some readers), or incompatibility of a long page with some browsers? If the pages are deleted, don't worry, we can always have a sysop undelete the pages very easily if we need to. In the future, when making a major change to a large page, it is probably a good idea to take a look at the edit history so you can contact past major contributors to the page and point them to you major-changes-discussion on the article's talk page. -- ^Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  ^Talk  19:16, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
• Thanks for the info; could you post it to the talk page for the article for discussion? Thanks! We may temporarily revert the page until discussion is complete, I haven't had a time to go through it yet. I don't see how the Main template affects anything: The problem remains that there is a complete duplication of article content. There still isn't a rationale for the change. For example, if the issue was wikicode efficiency, we could break sections down into templates, as we do for the Character appearances article.
