Custom Signature Edit

Greetings! If you would go to your preferences page and put a check in the "Custom Signature" box below the link it will reduce the clutter on talk pages when you sign. Thanks. --Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 14:57, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

I have checked that box. I'm not sure why it ends up so cluttered.

Let me test it using this page as a sandbox: my signature as three tildes: — Lawrence King ^(talk)

And my signature by manually using brackets and "/sig": — Lawrence King ^(talk)

And my signature with the signature button: --— Lawrence King ^(talk) 00:45, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Why doesn't it work?
