Widmore and the faucet
You removed the questions about the sequence of events in the bathroom. I think they are relevant and worth asking. If you feel they are too leading, I would welcome edits that satisfy such a concern. However, the scene was too intentional in my opinion to write this off to Widmore being a germaphobe. Thanks. --MixMasterMike 12:55, 29 February 2008 (PST)
Aaron/O6
You removed the question of whether Aaron is in the O6 with the edit summary "aaron is not in the oceanic 6, as per the podcast" - what is this referring to? I just watched the newest podcast and didn't hear any mention of Aaron and the O6? Could you clarify? Thanks. --Minderbinder 12:06, 27 February 2008 (PST)

Let's accept for now that the woman in "Confirmed Dead" is indeed Daniel's caretaker. That information was supplied in the enhanced version of the episode. Until they're proven wrong, we'll accept the canonicity of enhanced comments at face value. Robert K S 15:57, 29 February 2008 (PST)

links to episodes
I'm not following all of what you wrote. I personally put up the link to the 4x09 press release on the 4x09 page within the last couple days and put the name of the episode in the season 4 template. Did you see anything with regard to 4x09 that I missed?
The policy doesn't allow me to create a 4x10 page until 4x09 airs. So I don't have anywhere I can put the link to the 4x10 press release right now except the spoilers articles. My intention is to put up a 4x10 article immediately after 4x09 airs with the link to the press release.
I have personal opinions about the spoiler policy, but I have to apply what was written into the new policy. For lots of reasons I'm not the best person to defend why the policy is what it is. The only thing I can suggest is that you make your comments in the discussion for the spoilers policy page. Maybe one of the people who was strongly in favor of the changes can explain their reasoning. Dharmatel4 10:47, 16 April 2008 (PDT)
- I was asking about the response to me on the medianet page. I understand what your asking for now, but it would still require a change to the existing spoiler policy as far as I know. You could propose the change on the spoiler policy page discussion and see what happens. Dharmatel4 11:17, 16 April 2008 (PDT)
- Ok. I now what you were talking about. I added 4x09 to the medianet page. If your interested, I think there is some cleanup work that needs to be done on that article. I think there are a few non-episodic press releases from season 4 that are not listed at all. Anything covering episodes past 4x10 can't go up but there are things like the teleconference press release that are not on the page. Dharmatel4 11:35, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

"The Shape of Things to Come"
Hi Jimbo, you removed "The shirt rack that conceals the hieroglyph door has changed position between "The Economist" and "The Shape of Things to Come"". and the pictures (Image:Bensoffice te.gif & Image:Bensoffice sottc.gif) as proof, with an explanation of "desk could've been moved". Please explain, because the shot is taken from the exact same angle (NB the built-in cabinets are the same in each shot), and the attached shirt rack is not in "The Economist". I'm usually one for removing bloopers that could plausibly be 'fudged', but this was a "god in the machine" fix if I ever saw one. It deserves to remain as a continuity error. I do think it should be reworded to something like "The shirt rack that conceals the hieroglyph door in "The Shape of Things to Come" was not in "The Economist" which had a set of storage shelves in that spot instead ". -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 11:19, 28 April 2008 (PDT) Edit: I've added this back in with proper wording; please let me know if you have any concerns after revisiting it based on what I said. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 12:08, 28 April 2008 (PDT)

Jimbo, you deleted the part in the "bloops" section regarding the Turkish that Ben has used based on your opinion that he could have used any language. Sifting through the discussions in the relevant sections of Lostpedia, it seems that the choice of language was not arbitrary. Apparantly, he had a very good idea, where he ended up. Besides, regardless of whether Ben knows where he ended up, why would he approach two armed Bedouins in a desert with Turkish of all the widely spoken languages in the world?? Why not Spanish then? Or French? I think there is no good reason that can support that idea. Ben is portayed as an intelligent and very smart man, who the viewers of Lost would expect him to be knowledgable in world culture and languages as well. --Aelci 23:59, 28 April 2008 (PDT)

"To keep her safe"
Hi, you removed the UQ **Why did Christian ask Locke not to tell anyone that he saw Claire in the cabin with him?; you say the answer is "to keep her safe," but this to me looks like a theory in itself. It's not self-evident that IS the answer, it's not even obvious that she is alive (she doesn't look like herself at all), for all we know she could be dead, or she could even be in danger by staying with Christian (remember Yemi? he wasn't Yemi, and Eko was killed by the Smoke Monster afterwards). Indeed, if the reason was to keep her safe, that begs the question why didn't Christian take Aaron as well? You may be right Christian wants to keep her safe, but that's just a theory. It could also be that he doesn't want her to be rescued. This is an unanswered question and I politely request that you revert this change. --Salvora 15:59, 9 May 2008 (PDT)
- No, I don't think the reason you gave is a major leap, it's a reasonable answer; my point was just that this has not been answered and therefore it qualifies as an UQ. I'm adding it again. Thanks for your answer. --Salvora 16:31, 9 May 2008 (PDT)

"He's freezing the power source for the receiver"
I don't see how that makes sense. If the power was off for the receiver, then there would have been neither a red nor a green light. (Actually, nothing about the C-4 bomb makes sense from a technical standpoint--the whole rig requires a tremendous amount of suspension of disbelief.) Robert K S (talk) 11:32, 10 June 2008 (PDT)
- I don't understand what you mean by "the light wouldn't turn on". Lights of any color require power. If the battery powered the receiver, Michael's freezing it would have made the initial red light go dim. The whole bomb and all its associated devices are one big blooper as far as I'm concerned, and there can be no explanation for any of it. Robert K S (talk) 11:45, 10 June 2008 (PDT)

I think you redefined the page for Portal:Others. If not, please disregard.

Cindy
I didn't remove her, I just shifted her from "guest star" to "co-star" (so she's right below the guest star list). Only difference is that guest stars are listed in the opening credits, while co-stars are in the end credits (press releases usually contain both). It's a small detail, but I had just watched the episode and noticed that Kimberly Joseph was listed as a co-star, so I fixed it. Guess I should have included a note with the edit. Hope this clears it up. --compossible 06:10, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
ABC Medianet
Hi, I got your message. First of all, I copied and pasted from the previous entry, so any dates were based on those formats. Second, I used the proper links, including the & characters so that real spaces and punctuations wouldnt cause any trouble in older browsers. Finally, I included the Season 5 releases at the bottom so that people could access them. I didnt create a season 5 box because people so often go crazy when others go too far with future episode references. And I didnt move them from the season 5 box, none existed at the time. Really, I was just de-orphaning some poor lonely pages. Thanks for the input. Wikistoriographer 06:40, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Trivia Page
Jimbo,
I was wondering if you'd had an opportunity to read the exchanges about moving Trivia. I'm looking forward to discussing the issue.
--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 21:11, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, I see your point, but copying trivia, rather than moving it, only sucks up more disk space. I freely acknowledge that the ultimate result may not be what any of us want, but I only changed two pages and specified that I was prototyping. The fact that you only agree under a certain condition is fine, but, unless you are the final arbiter on the move, I think you should have allowed other people an opportunity to comment before you undid the changes. Fourteen days and counting!--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 23:26, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
After I finished my changes there was a new page named Trivia - season 1. The ink is red because Santa deleted the new page (I've asked him for his rationale separately); I don't know if that was before or after you undid the changes. Before you undid the changes, each of the "Pilot" pages contained a headline for trivia and a line reading Main Article: Trivia - season 1. Once transferred to the trivia page, were presented with a TOC. You did not have to page through a lot of text. The greater issue is that you charged me with having undertaking a major edit without discussion; that's simply not correct. There was substantial discussion right where you posted your objection, after the fact. The discussion was not conducted on Talk:Season 1, because it applied to the entire project. Episodes 1x01 and 1x02 were just the starting point.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 01:24, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

- Yeah, I was afraid that's what you were referring to--a few YouTube videos that purported to enhance the audio and then helpfully offered some suggestion in the way of captioned text. Even if there was fan consensus on the answer to this UQ--and a review of the various discussion boards and YouTube threads show a lot of people pointing out that the conclusion is tenuous and nonsensical given Kate's refusal to tell Jack--the point here is that the UQ hasn't been answered by the show or by the producers. What do the others call themselves?
Sorry, but can you suggest one nation, cult, tribe or family group that does not have a name for itself?--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 13:15, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- That's a neat analogy, Jimbo, but it falls short. You and the other people who live in you apartment building don't have a government (the landlord doesn't count!); the Others do, even if some of them are at cross purposes with their government. Members of the Others may have different origins, but they have immigrated to a new homeland, bringing their ethnicity with them, but leaving their previous nationality behind. Most of them don't have the option of leaving. As Tom told Michael when asked if the Others could travel away from the Island, "Some of us can," and that to complete missions on behalf of the Island with the implied (possibly inferred) expectation that they would return. ("Meet Kevin Johnson") The question was raised by the show the first time Rousseau called them the "The Others." "'The Others,' yeah, but who are they?" Widmore helped the question along when he said, as pointed out by User:Iimitk, "They're not Others to me; they're my people." We carry "my people" in lower case, suggesting that it's not a proper noun. "So, Mr. Widmore, what do your people call themselves?" Locke obviously hadn't had time to find out yet.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 20:36, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, thanks for the comment, but I certainly don't need a guide on how to write an UQ. Especially as it's written by another human being who has no connection at all to the show. So what makes his idea of an UQ correct, and mine wrong? As for me being the only person who still thinks it's an UQ, by making silly statements like that, you immediately lose credibility in your debate so I can ignore you quite easily and not feel guilty. Character appearances
I was just wondering why youve created all of these new templates for character appearances, it can become very confusing when searching. I know you suggested a change in the current format but fact of the matter is you need a lot more people to agree with the change before you can actually make it, and if you dont get the people youll have to delete them all, i understand making a few new pages so people can get a look at what your idea is but for now we have a character appearances page and you should hold off until you can get some support on your change. RE: Episode Titles
Hey Jimbo. Well, As you can see I am a little "anal" about the titles, more so than others. As for the talk pages, I don't seem to really come across many upcoming titles listed (except on the spoiler policy page). When I do see any signs of someone about to say the next ep's title, I just stop reading. The only reason I'm fighting for the new navbox is because I don't want the last episodes of Lost I'm ever going to watch, be ruined, if that makes sense. The one thing I've been thinking that would give you the ability to read the upcoming episode titles and keep users like me out of it is to only include this information on the Season 5 page, which in my opinion is the only place it really belongs, anywhere else and it's just "see also" material (which normally rests at the bottom of pages). There's many ways we could go about it, from creating a page titled "Episode titles", adding the "Spoilers" page back to Lp or again, the season 5 page. There are many ways, but in reality, it won't happen. I was lucky Jabrwocky came up with that new box otherwise nothing would have happened. I'm sorry, but I just woke up and might not have fully understood your question, if I missed anything please get back to me!-- SawBucks Talk Contribs 19:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll comment on tomorrow, now I'm too tired to think clearly >.< Personally I think episode titles are something that Lostpedia should have, like you said however, only ones that are in fact canon. On my other wiki we post anything that is released that is in fact canon, but we just make it so people who don't want to see this information can't accidentally see it (like the ep titles on the top of the page), that's where I'm coming from. They should for sure be added...but like I said, people like me shouldn't be able to just stumble across them from reading the most recent article. I'll get to it tomorrow and it's nice to see someone from your side of the argument that understands where I'm coming from.-- SawBucks Talk Contribs 04:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah the spoilers page is the one I was talking about in my first comment on your page here. I made my comments on the page (in four different spots). The only/last problem I'm having with the collapsible box is that for the first couple seconds it shows up until the page loads, I'm now suggesting that we just put it at the bottom of the page with the rest of the boxes (IMO where it really belongs). No problem and happy debating.-- SawBucks Talk Contribs 05:00, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
spoiler policy vote
Hi Jimbo, I might be the only one who screwed up, but I wanted to point out that the quote in the middle of the vote makes the flow confusing when one is adding their voice. Could you maybe move that quote to a comments section so the vote flows clearly and people are sure to put their vote in the correct section? I agree with you fully, BTW, and I hope others see that your points are clear and right on the mark. ---- LOSTonthisdarnisland 02:04, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hey Jimbo, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I've been very busy and haven't been on here in a long time. I like the changes you made in your version of the spoiler policy (I used the colourful one so I could see them easily). I've long felt that although I hate spoilers, things released by Bad Robot cannot by definition be spoilers. I think things that are released by some of the networks, though, like the one in the UK, might be spoilers if not intended to be released by BR. Anyway, good job. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 17:57, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Jacob's nicknames
Only 2 of the many nother nicknames have references. I am simply listing fan nicknames that I have heard commonly used. When I tried removing nicknames without references it was reverted back by a sysop. So I take that to mean, not all nicknames in this section require references. So I am going to list all the names I have heard used. --Integrated (User / Talk) 02:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- They're just names I've heard thrown around.. if we're going by 'only referenced names' I agree with you, but given, as I said, by edit was reverted when I removed non referenced names, I assume that it's a free for all--Integrated (User / Talk) 02:43, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ok. Let's continue this discussion on the Jacob talk page. --Integrated (User / Talk) 03:10, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Portal images
I wanted to let you know that several portal-size pics were uploaded by User:Steele for the Family trees article, and I think that you could use them for the Template:PortalIMG project. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 11:04, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well once you're done I think that they could be implemented on a lot of list articles on LP could use the portal images instead of the mini images which look terrible actually. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 19:55, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
RE:Jacob's Nemesis
I have given seven credible and notable sources for "Esau" on the talk page. The nickname for Spiderman has been removed due to its unnotability. Thanks for notifying me. -- CTS Talk Contribs 02:43, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Good call on the Edom thing, by the way where did this name come from, I've never heard it before? - MRMIKE T C E 21:59, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
I am a little anal about trivia like this, and I never heard it mentioned prior to PaulGower listing it in the article. However, in some biblical references, the name Edom is an alternative name for Esau and "red" is used in describing Esau. In fact the followers of Esau were called Edomites. Too bad this has nothing to do with Jacob's Nemesis.- MRMIKE T C E 23:25, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Portal:Mysteries - Casear
How have Miles' abilities been "firmly established"? We knew he talked to the dead from his first appearance... and that is still all we know. I do not recall them ever giving an explanation for his abilities, and until they do (or the producers say there isn't one), it should be a mystery. I think most users would agree with me.
Caesar is arguable... I actually tend to agree with you that he was a red herring to distract us from Bram and Ilana... but we don't know that. He was certainly introduced in a mysterious way, so I don't think it's fair to write him off until there is no chance of him coming back. I don't feel as strongly about this though. --Jtmoore 03:10, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Makes sense and I'm fine with that. I guess the best way I could describe it would be Caesar's suspicious behaviour... I mean, you have to admit he was introduced more prominently and mysteriously than many characters. I think all of us (i.e. anyone watching Lost) was expecting something important from him... and then he gets shot... but conveniently, they never said one way or another if he was dead. I am fine leaving him off for now.
I agree with you about character names too, although Richard Alpert I would say is a mystery overall... but the others, yes.
as for Miles, in what way do you consider his abilities solved? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jtmoore (talk • contribs) .

Man of Science, Man of Faith
I removed Desmond from FB. It is not by any means a Desmond FB, unlike how Dave and A Tale of Two Cities also include Libby and Juliet flashbacks respectively. Absolutely no one considers it a Desmond flashback; there isn't even a debate like there is for those two episodes. No one thinks it is one. See talk page for further reasoning and do not put any more inaccurate things like that on Lostpedia. --Golden Monkey 17:32, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
New Spoiler Policy
I have created a new spolier/promotional material policy that I feel correctly addreses the issues at hand: titles, ignored discussions, and the fact that our motivation is contradictory to our policy. The policy is in two parts. The first part deals with spoilers and can be found here. The second part deals with promotional material and may be found here. I would like you to weigh in so improvements may be made before I submit it to be an official policy. Thanks! cgmv123TalkContribsNew Spoiler Policy! 17:14, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Sysop Issue
I left a message about the new policy on nearly all the of the sysops' talk pages. So far only one has given a message. I've been checking recent changes so I know I haven't missed anything. I think they came to consensus in their secret talks that the current policy can't be changed, or something. What should I do to get their attention? Thanks! cgmv123TalkContribsNew Spoiler Policy! 15:57, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

The rewriting/cleanup of older articles?
Hey Jimbo, what's up with all the changes to the Stations...Swan, Pearl, Flame, Hydra and looking Glass.- MRMIKE T C E 16:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
At first I was curious as to why an editor was making so many changes to these articles. Upon reading them, I can see where some of these changes were necessary and very thoughtful. I commend this editor for all their efforts. I suppose that I was a little bit concerned that so many of the edits were done without any discussion. Perhaps I am a little gun-shy about taking on a similar task without the opinion and consent of those who have more experience than myself. I'm sure that you and your peers have full confidence in this editor's ability to remain objective and to the point. I am a big fan of LOST and LP, if I overacted or wasted your time, I'm sorry-Thx- MRMIKE T C E 22:52, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Centric counts
Jimbo, I noticed on the Centric tally page that the centric totals are not up to date? Also while researching the individual episode pages, some of the episode infoboxes have the centric character listed and some don't. Does this need updating? And last, while hunting for info, I noticed that some characters have a page for Category:(actor)-centric and some don't. Do these too, need to be included. Would you like me to work on this?- MRMIKE T C E 22:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Mars?
Why did you remove Edward Mars from the Recurring Characters template? He has appeared in enough episodes to be there and played a significant enough role as well. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 13:23, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, my bad. BTW, not all characters are categorized by first names, namely Martin Keamy', Anthony Cooper and Stuart Radzinsky. I think that Edward Mars, Danielle Rousseau and possibly Frank Lapidus, Danny Pickett and Charles Widmore should be categorized by last name as well as they are mostly referred to by there last names, similar to John Locke on the main characters nav. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 21:16, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Changed Widmore. I'll think about the other ones. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 00:00, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Hydra Island
Hey Jimbo, I took a crack at cleaning up this article. How does it look, opinions...advice...please, thanks.- MRMIKE T C E 10:38, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
I must be dyslectic, I read the LP:MoS, but my interpretation was the reverse of what you are saying...thanks. It's kind of ironic, I had to work a little to get things to make sense in the present tense. I'll fix it and I noticed the item to keep the captions in the present tense. I liked the images I picked, I hope they help convey the article. I will put a comment out on the talk page as well. Thanks- MRMIKE T C E 20:22, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Looking for Orhan
HEY Jimbo, I was looking for Orhan to pick his brain on some lesser known facts. I haven't heard from him lately and I see that he hasn't been on site for a while, do you know if he's on a break and when will he be back. I hope everything is OK, please let me know if you hear anything, thanks- MRMIKE T C E 03:48, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
