Thoughts on Season 5
- Ok I read what you put about Daniel Faraday trying to stop the timejumps and that's why he's gone to DHARMA and I think you're spot on. I think he knows Desmond won't be able to help so he goes to the Orchid himself to try and stop the jumps, and on the way he accidentally timeshifts into 1970 when it's being built. He also himself admitted that changing the past is impossible so he isn't really worried about that .. also this probably hints that he is the voice in the Chang's Comic Con video. Banned
Yea.. it was pretty annoying .. I don't like being banned .. Integrated (User / Talk) 22:47, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- You can still view the site in full, you just can't edit. Integrated (User / Talk) 23:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Transcript
- I don't understand your question. Which transcript have you finished? Could you post it to an article, or a sandboxed article in your userspace (User:JamesTFord1987/somearticlename) -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 05:45, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Closed captioning stream
My secret is that I only spend my time working on the action description (which can be very laborious, especially for fight sequences, which don't make sense without a full blow-by-blow). The dialog is all sourced from the closed caption stream. I don't know if they have included CC streams for those commentaries you are transcribing, but if they do, you can probably find a cheap old ATI TV card that is capabale of capturing the CC stream on eBay or something for only a few dollars. I use the ATI version 7.9 "TV Magazine" feature to capture the closed captions to a text file in real time as a program plays (I haven't found any other reliable method, but if you figure one out, please let me know). Medal category
- Whoops. It should've been Category:Hardwork Medal. Thanks for the heads-up! It's changed.-- c blacxthornE t 20:26, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Hey man

Hey
Hey you still around? Haven't seen you editing much? Integrated (User / Talk) 11:03, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Commentary
Hi, I had to break and couldn't finish editing the whole thing, but I figured some was better than none. I knew the rule about transcripts, but it made so little sense, I thought it was just your typo, rather than oddly formated conversation. My mistake. :) I'll try to get back to it when I can, and this time, I'll have the commentary playing in the background so I don't make the same mistake again. Glad to help. It's always good to have multiple eyes on things. ---- LOSTonthisdarnisland 15:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Helping is no commentary on your hard work. You've laid the foundation. I was just going to pretty it up. ---- LOSTonthisdarnisland 16:14, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks. Ever since I started using Mozilla Firefox I just adore doing spellchecks. Looking forward to the next commentary. P.S. Nice speaking to you too. -- Orhan94 Talk Contribs 18:19, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks!
haha thanks man, it was cool to be asked. I'm a mod on the forums, an Op on #irc and now a mod on the wiki :D
hope all's going well man, I'll need a few more basic tutorials when youve got a second hehe AlaskaDave 00:36, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Yo
Just in case you're interested I have a general theory on my userpage which you might wanna read! --Integrated (User / Talk) 07:49, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! As for Christian it's honestly hard to tell. He said he would speak on Jacob's behalf, but Illana said Jacob hadn't been to the cabin in a long time and then torched it.. which makes me think he might well be working very much against Jacob. Also he told Sun and Lapidus to wait for John Locke, which again could be trying to give his Locke persona more control over people.--Integrated (User / Talk) 08:25, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with you, that we have never seen Jacob in the cabin. And yes my theory is there are two smoke monsters, black and white, and the only time anyone has seen the white one is Locke in season 1, when he called it "a bright white light" --Integrated (User / Talk) 09:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think season 5 has been overall a really really great season. I especially liked it while the Oceanic 6 were trying to get back to the island and the time skips were happening, it lulled a bit in the middle maybe but the Finale was amazing. I think they're really starting to wrap up things in a big way, and the more they tell us the more we see that even huge characters like Ben and Widmore are insignificant in the long term. So I completely loved the season, and only hated the way it ended >.< --Integrated (User / Talk) 11:19, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Episode titles
Hi. I'm just curious about something, because I know you like to avoid all episode titles, including the immediately upcoming one. I can see how you'd avoid looking at press releases/promos/the episode page/"upcoming section on the main page/etc to avoid the title. I was just wondering if/how you avoid reading it on talk pages. It seems to me like it must be pretty hard to avoid, but while fighting for their inclusion over at Lostpedia talk:Spoiler policy, I'm still hoping to better understand what the consequences would be over their inclusion so that, perhaps, steps could be taken to avoid users such as yourself reading the titles. Jimbo the Tubby talk contributions 18:27, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, that's pretty much exactly what I was wondering. I was just looking for the point of view of someone who actually avoids the titles, 'cuz it seems to me like most of the "oh we should't post titles" stuff is coming from people who do in fact read the titles, but are arguing on behalf of others. I was just wanted to hear it from someone who is in the situation of not wanting to read them, rather then hearing arguments like "well if somebody didn't want to read them...". You're the only person I know of who avoids them, though, so I figured I'd ask you. Now that the Nav is collapsible, though, I'm curious how you'd feel about adding future episode titles to it (only those ones released officially in podcasts/press releases/etc, nothing that comes from DarkUFO rumours or the like). There's a discussion going on about it Unaired episode titles in NavBox|here, I'd really value your opinion on it as someone from the opposite end of the spectrum as myself. Jimbo the Tubby talk contributions 04:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Similarly, it's nice to see someone on your side who sees where I'm coming from. Most people are so defensive of the people who want to avoid titles (despite the fact that they aren't included in their number). So many people talk about how we should ban titles entirely off the wiki on your behalf, even though they look at the titles themselves. I agree that the important thing is to make sure they can't be stumbled across by accident, for which there are much subtler ways than an full-out ban. I don't know how long you've been on LP, but we used to have "/Spoilers" pages where information like this could be posted, but they were gotten rid of as an overreaction to the DarkUFO spoilers at the end of Season 3. Man, I miss those pages. Anyways enough of me rambling, thanks and I look forward to your post on the spoiler policy discussion. :) Jimbo the Tubby talk contributions 04:43, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Smoke monster
Hi, JamesTFord1987. I noticed you posted about the Jacob's enemy/smoke monster theory on Orhan's talk page a few days ago. I posted a blog entry about that here about a week ago if you want to give it a read. -- Sam McPherson T C E 02:57, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi
Yea I have heard that theory quite a lot, I believe he was the first mate and that it was his journal that Widmore purchased at the auction. --Integrated (User / Talk) 06:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- We don't have explicit evidence he was on the Black Rock but I think the hints are there. Ben said Richard has been on the Island a very long time, but doesn't specify how long. Richard says Jacob gave him the ability to not age - so Jacob was there before Richard - and we see Jacob and his nemesis seemingly alone on the Island watching the Black Rock approach. Mentioning the first mate as the one who wrote the journal but deliberately not actually mentioning his NAME is another thing (who else do we know who may have been alive in 1845 whose name it could have been? We know Hanso was the captain, not the first mate) and then of course the ship in the bottle.
As I said, nothing conclusive, but they are definitely giving us these hints. :) --Integrated (User / Talk) 06:51, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
