Creating new articles?? Edit

I'm extremely confused about creating new articles- it used to be wiki standard that if you search for a term that doesn't appear that it gives you the option to create a new article for it, but now no such option appears! Sorry for the double post! I'm not seeing the Create Page button. Maybe the Lostpedia skin erased it somehow? Mine says Main Page / Forum / Community Portal / Blogs / Wiki blog / User blogs / Languages / Recent changes / Random page / Help /// What links here / Related changes / Upload image / Special pages / Printable version / Permanent link / Upload multiple files. You're right about clicking on a red link, that does work. But when I search for a page that doesn't exist, it doesn't give me the option of creating, when I thought that it used to. Renames Edit

Can you rename the following as they are not renames that need discussion upon Template:Richard/Defected to Template:Portal:Richard/Defected (mistake while creating, currently causes problems in the template's use), Template:Portal/Mr. Paik to Template:Portal/Woo-Jung (an update we know the characters name now), Template:Portal Matthew Reed to Template:Portal/Matthew Reed (similar to the first one, a mistake in its creation and causes problems in the template's use), Dogen's son (flash sideways timeline) to Dogen's son (flash-sideways timeline) (per the writing of "flash-sideways" on the rest of the article's names), Warren to Warren (Walkabout) (to avoid confusion as we have at least two other character's named Warren on the show) and Portal: Answers to Portal:Answers (per the naming of portals). Could you also delete Mr. Ford (flash-sideways timeline) as a consensus was reached that his and Mary Ford's characters don't get flash-sideways articles (though the Admin who deleted her flash-sideways article forgot to delete his article). --Orhan94 22:13, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you very much, with the low SysOp activity these days the rename, merge and delete nominations have just been piling up. I try to take care of merge nominations, and the delete nominations are sometimes taken care of by Robert K S or Gaarmyvet, though taking care of renames is hard as only a small amount of users vote and discuss them and I rarely see a SysOp online, and even when they are online they don't check up on them. Also, can the spoiler definitions on MediaWiki:Blog-comments and MediaWiki:Create-blog-form-info be made a little less obnoxious. New Accounts Edit

If memory serves, it was about this point last season when we disabled new accounts to cut down on vandalism and spoilers. While I hate being pessimistic, I can see a rush happening again, especially since we're coming to the "final final." I agree. We should go into our usual end of season lockdown mode around about now. The finale finished filming yesterday, which means details about every scene could be leaked onto the internet. Posting episode titles Edit

I've just created the article for the final clip show. No reason why we can't tell people the title of that, it's only a clip show and it gives nothing away. We have done it in the past. As for the finale title itself, well I know what it is and my opinion is that it's not a spoiler, but then again I consider every title not to be a spoiler. Hard to say for sure. There are possibilities for prequels, etc. When I spoke to Gregg Nations about it this weekend he said we'd have to watch the finale before theorizing about what's next. Reply I don't think so either. But Damon and Carlton went out of their way to call the finale "The End". They're saying to us, "This is it. This is "The End"." Don't forget the prequels and such may not necessarily be canon. Template:Sectionbox Episode Edit

Historically, the color for the box (that changes based on season) has been based off of the DVD color. But, this season's color is black, and we can't have black text on a black background. Could you modify the template so when the season= parameter is 6 the text color is white? Latest News Edit

This is not its first best drama series nomination since season 1. It was also nominated for seasons 4 and 5. I've seen this said a few other places too (such as the Today Show), since people are confusing season 1 being the only win with it being the only nomination (which it isn't). Problem posing blogs Edit

Jabrwocky7, Recently, I have been able to log on and create a blog but I cannot post the blog. After I save the page, it just kicks it back to me and says Invalid title. At first I thought I might need to upgrade my browser as the computerr I use is old but I've tried this on a new computer and the same thing happens. What can the problem be? Have I been banned. O Melhor de Lost Edit

Hello. My name is Lucas and I'm a bureaucrat on PT LOSTpédia. Over the past three years we have made six editions of 'O Melhor de Lost' (The Best of Lost), a voting to choose the best in each presented category. Each edition represented a season of the series, and now we're doing the final edition that will decide the best of the entire series. We had almost 30k votes with only Portuguese-speaking fans, and we thought that would be cool if other languages could be a part of this. So we are asking for the major Lostpedias to join us in this voting that will begin August 1st, and also its bureaucrats to participate as a member of a selected number of juries, that include the best Brazilian Lost bloggers and DarkUFO. Reporting a personal attack. Edit

Hey Jabrwocky.

In This Blog , user SmokeysFriend108 posted a derogatory comment aimed at everyone who had posted in the blog. The derogatory comment also included a swear word.

Hope something can be done about this. Thanks.

P.S. Do you have any idea what the chances are of Wikia allowing us to choose which blog format we use. Most users are not very happy with the layout, as it makes it more difficult to converse with our fellow users. You don't have to reply to this question as I know some admins are reluctant to discuss this, and I'm not sure which camp you lie in. I'm mostly bothered about the vandal!

Trolling? Edit

Okay, as far as I know, trolling can get you banned on lostpedia, as Metroid101 said that he was banned for trolling previously. And as far as I know, trolling is making stupid, mean sarcastic comments on deliberately.

Anyway, I would like to report BalkOfFame for trolling. For the past few weeks? I have noticed he has been making several comments in blogs which are sarcastic and they really don't belong there. Some, even there just to make people worry. Such as today, BalkOfFame said to me today that 'Too late. Reported you for spoilers.' When I clearly didn't reveal any spoilers. Although it didn't bother me, it is clear this comment was made to make me worry, and it may bother other people. And it isn't just me, I have noticed him saying this to other people in the past as well. I don't think that just because he is one of the top users that he should get special privileges, so if you could deal with this, maybe have a word with him, it would be much appreciated.

Breaking "The End" into two parts Edit

I have a request on my talk page to implement a change dividing "The End" into two pages. I'm a little ambivalent about it. We did divide the season finale of season five into two pieces, but we seem to have left that of season four in one piece (the last is complicated by the fact that the episode had "three parts"). "The End" aired as a single episode, and was submitted for Emmys as a single episode, so unless there is a technical reason for breaking up the article (ie, too long and generating page errors), I see no reason to do so.   • I was the one who originally suggested this. Every previous season finale is split up into two parts on their respective templates. And no, season 4 is not in one piece; look at Jack's page, for example. Under his centric episodes, it lists "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1," "There's No Place Like Home, Part 2," and "There's No Place Like Home, Part 3." And as far as where to make the break, abc.com has made it where the commercial break was in Jack/MIB's fight (part 1 ends with the flying punch, part 2 begins with them still fighting). BalkOfFame (good) Edit

Okay long story short, the admin, User:Mr.Leaf, has been inactive for nearly 9 months. Clearly he has packed up and forgotten about lostpedia, or he doesn't care any more. And please, save me an argument, no he won't come back. Anyway, I was thinking, and clearly other people are on board with this, that you take away Mr. Leaf's admin privileges, and give them to BalkOfFame. Now, why? Let's compare the two users:

BalkOfFame

  • Active daily
  • Makes tonnes of edits, over 13,000
  • They are good quality edits
  • He is kind to everyone
  • Doesn't argue or get involved in arguments (If he does, it is to resolve them)
  • He is smart and a valuable user to this wikia.

Mr. Leaf

  • Hasn't been on for 9 months
  • People clearly have forgotten him

Now you have no reason to decline this absolutely reasonable and acceptable request. Also BalkOfFame is on board with the idea of becoming an admin. To see other peoples thoughts, please visit and read this blog, respect more people will comment in time, but it is clear they want him as an admin, and Mr. Leaf out. The Great Lost Re-Watch Edit

Theres a new Lost Re-Watch on this wiki... and we have an idea for making a page for it to show the schedule for episode dates and discussions. It would also put the word across, but we do need an admins permission to make it a page to see if its a good idea... So... Do you think we should make a page? Strong Objection Edit

A page for Afterlife has been created on Lostpedia that I have strong objections to it's current representation. The first line is "Lost's characters and story frequently referenced the afterlife." This incorrectly represents the series of LOST as it was presented. The term "afterlife" was never used within the series and no character ever specifically used this term. Our responsibility is to accurately represent the story of LOST as it was presented. I strongly feel this term should not be used in this manner on Lostpedia, and have strong objections to the representation of this page.
