Thanks. I wouldn't be so frustrated if he would actually address my points, but whatever. As for locking the portal, can I suggest having it expire automatically after a while? Just because I'm sure somewhere down the road we'll want to overhaul the portals again (nothing ever stays the same forever) and this way we won't have to worry that there's a single portal we can't edit. Penny Edit

I kept changing it because Penny's page is her biography according to the show. What I wrote about Desmond was directly related to Penny, and not just a theory, because I did not make it up or presume it, it is in the show.         • What I wrote did not say that it happened. However, that page should have everything having to do with Penny on the show. The part about the Man in Black killing her was not shown, but mentioned, as was what I wrote, and that was not the last thing having to do with her on the show. Problem Edit

Hey Jim, I'm sorry if this isn't the place to be writing this, I'm just not sure. I've had problems lately with Colinlcamp.ME. It hasn't been anything to invole an admin over, but now it's gotten to the point where he is just spamming random blogs by writing things that don't even involve the topic. He's done this type of thing in the past, but not on such a big level. I was hoping an admin could resolve this situation. Thanks --Pexxoum 22:33, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

I think he may be mentally unbalanced. There are times I feel like his posts are different people shouting to be heard, but none of it makes sense. I'm pretty sure one of his theories, if I understood him, was that the whole show took place inside Christian, with the different characters as different aspects of one person. Spoiling the Epilogue Edit

Ok, the frequency is really picking up as far as blogging about the epilogue. Here's one to take a look at. I haven't read this one, but the length alone and some reactions, tell me it reveals a LOT of information. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Not all of us want to get this much information before the expected release on August 24th. Isn't there something that can be done to avoid blogging epilogue spoilers? Adding a note....And now there are more popping up. Please help!

Thank You for responding and leaving a message for the editor. It's much more effective coming from you. There was another blog posted more in "jest" vs. being serious. However, anything posted about the epilogue at this point invites spoilers. Because of an existing relationship on the blogs, I was able to speak directly with the editor and they did eliminate the content of their post as well. Yes, if I see any other blogs, I will let you know.

Me!!! Edit

Vulgarity and profanity are not acceptable on Lostpedia and its blogs. Your conduct on the argument ostensibly about the name of the Man in Black was well below the standard we set for this wiki. The only reason I am not banning you at this time is that other editors' comments were also heated. I suggest that you pay better attention to the history of pages; the edit that changed Co-pilot (Namaste)'s name to "Jack Ross" was immediately reversed by a sysop and is hardly qualifying as a reference.

What's going on?! Edit

The site has been freaking out on me for two hours! It say it's posting my comment, but the comment dissappears, or meshes with another one. Then, all of the sudden it says I am not allowed to post...what the heck! I highly doubt I'm being blocked, but what is going on?     • I experienced the same problems when trying to edit pages last night. Sometimes it said the database was in lockdown, other times it was fine. And I kept losing all the latest changes when I looked in Recent Changes. It said something about the server catching up with the master, so wikia was down for a bit. I would like to report... Edit

I want to report Czygan84 because he has just made a personal insult to another user on lostpedia, and last time I checked, you banned people for that. E.g. you banned Julietfan for it. So, basically, Czygan84 and AdamDS95 had a small conversation. Adam thanked Czygan for backing him up in the argument with Julietfan. Czygan left this reply on AdamDS95's talk page --

Ha looks like ive made myself an enemy, but regardless Jim I emplore you to have a look at the blog in question user JFan launches into a profanity laced tirade. There are basic differences here between the two situations. One was vulgar and profanity based, written publically on a blog without regard for the other users participating in the blog. In this case, the user was not vulgar or profane (perhaps his point was not stated in the best possible way), however, it was written privately between two users in the wake of an emotional confrontation. Once again, I see situations being taken out of context and misconstrued. I'm also detecting, an unfavorable attitude toward seasoned users that is repeating itself here and in blogs. Just want you to know there is a third point of view to be considered in this discussion. The one incident by itself would not be offensive. However, there have been repeated incidents with JFan2626. I know him and he's well aware this was not his first offensive tirade in the blogs. JFan2626 created his own cumulative affect with multiple incidents. And personally, knowing him as I do, I'm fairly certain he would admit this fact. As we have been attempting to point out, there is a history here that is not immediately apparent. I'm sure, JFan2626, knows that although we may like him on a personal level, there are certain behaviors that are not acceptable in this environment and are punishable via banning. We look forward to his return, with hopes that he understands his situation and will avoid any further need for banning.   • Yes As much as I like being rewarded for my edits :P The points system is getting quite annoying, and I agree I think we should just get rid of it. We're going to get some people creating blogs and commenting on hundreds of them, just to get points and to be on the top. When really, people like BalkOfFame should be rewarded for their hard work. I don't mean to be the wet blanket, but I thought I'd bring your attention to User:Daniel990 who recently started blogs just to obtain badge points. I think attention needs to be given User:Nniclostfan01. He, among others I'm sure, is making pointless messy edits others who actually care about this site are having to clean-up. Worst of all his shameless badge/point rampage has earned him a spot as #2 on the site. There just seems to be something so wrong in rewarding behavior like this. I was hoping to resolve an issue with User:Blackout0189 without any problems, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. He added the category "Protected" to a page, and then instantly removed it. I'm not sure if this was for progress on a badge, but I can't see any other reason for it. He had to physically type "Protected" to add it, which is purely intentional. I asked him why he did it and I recieved no response until I asked again in a follow up a day later. I recieved a sarcastic response on my own talk page. This isn't a big deal but it presents room for similar incidents and occurences of this sort on Lostpedia. --Pexxoum 06:42, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Just ridiculous Edit

From what I can see User:Blackout0189 is removing things from pages, and then readding them minutes later. Looks like it's to earn badges as his edits dealt with pictures and categories. This is simply completely unacceptable. Trolling? Edit

Okay, as far as I know, trolling can get you banned on lostpedia, as Metroid101 said that he was banned for trolling previously. And as far as I know, trolling is making stupid, mean sarcastic comments on deliberately.

Anyway, I would like to report BalkOfFame for trolling. For the past few weeks? I have noticed he has been making several comments in blogs which are sarcastic and they really don't belong there. Some, even there just to make people worry. Such as today, BalkOfFame said to me today that 'Too late. Reported you for spoilers.' When I clearly didn't reveal any spoilers. Although it didn't bother me, it is clear this comment was made to make me worry, and it may bother other people. And it isn't just me, I have noticed him saying this to other people in the past as well. I don't think that just because he is one of the top users that he should get special privileges, so if you could deal with this, maybe have a word with him, it would be much appreciated.

BalkOfFame (good) Edit

Okay long story short, the admin, User:Mr.Leaf, has been inactive for nearly 9 months. Clearly he has packed up and forgotten about lostpedia, or he doesn't care any more. And please, save me an argument, no he won't come back. Anyway, I was thinking, and clearly other people are on board with this, that you take away Mr. Leaf's admin privileges, and give them to BalkOfFame. Now, why? Let's compare the two users:

BalkOfFame

  • Active daily
  • Makes tonnes of edits, over 13,000
  • They are good quality edits
  • He is kind to everyone
  • Doesn't argue or get involved in arguments (If he does, it is to resolve them)
  • He is smart and a valuable user to this wikia.

Mr. Leaf

  • Hasn't been on for 9 months
  • People clearly have forgotten him

Now you have no reason to decline this absolutely reasonable and acceptable request. Also BalkOfFame is on board with the idea of becoming an admin. To see other peoples thoughts, please visit and read this blog, respect more people will comment in time, but it is clear they want him as an admin, and Mr. Leaf out. RE:Infobox CharacterEdit

  • I'm not exactly sure why I'm getting blamed for this. The one and only change I made to that particular template was done back in July, and is not listed among the fields you say have been showing up in their raw forms. Looking at the page history, I can see that multiple recent modifications have occured. Not trying to argue my way out of my responsabilities, but all I'm saying is that if I caused the problem by making that modification in July, wouldn't it have been noticed sooner? I'm always very careful when I edit templates, considering that one mistake could affect multiple articles. I'm truly sorry if I did in fact cause any sort of trouble, but I sincerly don't believe I did. --LeoChris 17:31, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

      • But that's just the thing, how does a change made more than a month ago qualify as recent? All I'm trying to say is that if the change I made to the template caused the problem, I find it hard to believe that it's only being noticed now. Ergo, I'm just pointing out that I believe the other changes, made by other users, are more likely to be responsible for the problem, since they are more recent than mine. Knowing Lost - Deletion Edit

I don't want to be a pain in the butt by nagging you about this, but, it has been suggested that this page should be deleted for a while now. It only seems fair that we delete this page as no other users are aloud to create pages for their fan fiction, so just because Sam Anderson is an admin, it's like he has a right to post his. He doesn't. So he should be treated the same as everyone else because his stories are no better than anyone else's. We have listed Knowing Lost under the fan art page along with everyone else's fan art, and that is where it should be. Lostpedia's Theme? Edit

Jim, do you know if Lostpedia will have a unique Lostpedia theme option with the "new look" theme designer? Hey Jim! How are things? I hope good!  ;-) I hate to do this, but I am here to bring HeyJude to your attention...again. I don't know what to do, she completly pollutes the blogs with her...well, diarrhea of the mouth. I've tried MANY times MANY ways to get it through her head her behavior is very unwelcome/easy to fix, but she persists. I've delayed reporting her because...well I thought maybe I was being hormonal/overreacting, but I'm not alone.
