Jesus stick

Background cast/Others

Hey CTS, so today I cleaned up the Background cast/Others page - since it was so stretched (horizontally) - and now it's all nice and neat except for one thing. The comments column is still so stretched out! Could you take a look and maybe you'd know whats wrong with it? Thanks! --Mistertrouble189 01:34, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Nalini

So this user, Beckynut, replaced the image of Nalini of a picture of herself (who she claims to be Rebecca Hazelwood). I remember seeing a post from a Wikia person on your page about Rebecca asking her character's image to be removed. What's up with that? Should we revert the image back to the character?--Mistertrouble189 01:59, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Tail section on beach

I don't have a copy of LOST magazine, but are you sure about that drawing? The "tail" seems to have a support structure for an engine still attached and there's a person standing in what appears to be a cargo hatch. IMO, that's the center section rolled on its side. The hatch would have been under the wing. <shrug>--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 19:24, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Hello I'm Station7 and I have a question. Is it good if I could use a archive for my talk page on lostpedia?--Station7 20:24, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Exclusive Content contest-thing

Kate's Wedding

Why would we assume that Kate's wedding was Protestant? The appearance of the church and the minister are consistent with Catholic churches (stained glass, sanctuary lamp) and vestments (alb and stole). They certainly could be Protestant, but I don't think there's any reason to rule out Catholic.--Bonefishj0e 21:41, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

You make a good case to assume that the wedding was probably Protestant, but I don't think we can rule out the possibility that it was Catholic based your comments. I don't recall the music that was played in the wedding scene, and while it's true that many Catholic churches do not permit the secular music that we usually associate with weddings, there are many others that do. The decision on that is made by the pastor of the individual church. Regarding the additional rituals, if we had seen the wedding from beginning to end we could rule out a Catholic wedding based on their absence, but since we saw only the end of the ceremony, it doesn't make sense to assume they weren't there. Also, I agree that many Protestant churches have stained glass, but I wasn't trying to rule out Protestant churches; I was only noting that, unless I missed something (very possible), the scenery can't be used to rule out Catholic churches. I don't know of any Protestant denominations that would have a sanctuary lamp, though. Unless I'm mistaken (again, very possible) that is a distinctly Catholic element. I don't think any of that is enough to rule out the possibility that the wedding was Protestant, but don't think there's any reason to rule out the possibility that it was Catholic either.--Bonefishj0e 03:37, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Old problems anew

Hey CTS. User:Benjamin Linus, who had been banned a few months ago for (among other reasons) continually adding a UQ to He's Our You about who lit the DHARMA van on fire, ignoring the consensus that the question was answered. He's recently come back and since added the question to the page twice more (once being removed by me and once by User:Golden Monkey). He's also added some mildly sexist things to his user page, but I don't know what the policy is on that. Just thought somebody might want to know to keep an eye on it.  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  20:23, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

If you had read the discussion on the page, you would see that finally one of the members on here who knows what he is talking about provided me with an explanation. Hence I said that I was happy that the topic was decided upon. So I don't see the need for you to flame my page *afterwards*?! And Tubby, none of my comments are sexist. Ever heard of the phrase 'tongue-in-cheek'? Keep your nose out of my profile page, please \(>_<)/ I'll have it how I like it. Ben 01:25, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
  • It's great that you want to be sexist and homophobic on your user page, frankly I don't care what your opinions are. But the fact of the matter is that Lostpedia is a privately owned site and if you want to start posting things about how any annoying woman is automatically on her period or this this image then I think the SysOps deserve to be informed so that they can pass final judgement on whether or not they want to allow this content on their site. Freedom of speech is given to you by your government; it doesn't extend to what you say on somebody's private property.  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  04:16, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

The Incident Room Canonicity

Hey CTS, Spiral77 continues to put The incident Room as non-canon over at the Swan page because he thinks it's 100% conclusive it's not real. Granted he may be right, but we don't know for sure yet. Could you, the master of Via Domus canonicity, explain why it's still semi-canon to him? --LOST-The Cartographer 04:35, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey no problemo mate. Thanks for taking care of the situation. --LOST-The Cartographer 00:45, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Left Behind (book)

You ignored consensus and abused your sysop powers in your restoration of Left Behind (book) 1. It's obvious that characters in a book called "Left Behind" would be "left behind". That's not enough of a plot similarity. 2.The Shape of Things to Come (book) was confirmed as a reference in an audio podcast, so you can't cite that as a precedent. Consensus to delete was reached and the page was deleted. It's as simple as that. cgmv123TalkContribsE-mail 22:00, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Pictogram replyPictogram voting opposeUser:Jabrwocky7 judged that consensus was reached and deleted the page. That's what I meant with ignoring consensus. The page was deleted and you abused your sysop powers and restored it. Consensus was judged and you ignored it. cgmv123TalkContribsE-mail 22:11, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
Pictogram reply regular users can't restore pages. I can't restore Template:blockrequest] for example. You abused your sysop powers. If you want it merged then merge it now. Otherwise, redelete it and respect consensus. cgmv123TalkContribsE-mail 00:19, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
Pictogram reply Every commenter at Talk:Left Behind (book)‎, but you voted in favor of deleting and/or merging the page. I would be happy to merge it. Your new and old objections regarding plot similarities have been addressed by me. I am not saying that we have to remove all references to the book from the wiki. I'm just saying that it doesn't deserve it's own page. cgmv123TalkContribsE-mail 00:19, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
I think the consensus is merge. I have done a quick merge, feel free to add more to the book's section on Literary works. --Blueeagleislander 01:49, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for looking over it. I'll add some more info/references to the literary works page later. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 01:50, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

i need to discuss the nalini page with you as as actor images that are published of me on sites like this directly affect my work I am not happy at all with this image i would like to find an image that we can publish that is better. please email me to discuss Rhazlewood —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Beckynut (talkcontribs) 2010-01-29T22:52:03.

User Disrespect

I recently noticed a smart-alleck remark from User:Dposse and noticed you had banned him. When I went to see what exactly he was banned for I couldnt find anything because it appears he removed your comments and refered to them as "bullshit" not only that but when a user tried to help him and warm him to put the comment back (as per policy) up he responded by removing that users comment as well, I then warned him and he removed my comment as well. It just irks me that a user would disregard policy knowingly and show blatant disrespect to both you and other users as he has continually done and I thought you should know. -- B1G CZYGS  Talk  Contribs  01:30, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

This guy is attacking me for something that happened months ago? Don't you think that's a touch unfair? And i really don't think that being a smartass is really bannable, otherwise the Admins would be banning anyone who didn't sound like a robot. dposse 01:51, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
Just because no one noticed your disrespect and disregard of the rules doesnt make it right. Not to mention you went against Policy knowingly yet again minutes ago. -- B1G CZYGS  Talk  Contribs  01:56, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Rules regarding appearence counts in Infoboxes

On the Phil page, User:Czygan84 wants to count an uncredited appearance by Phil in the S6 LA-X 1&2 episode as a character appearence count in the Infobox. I undid it because Phil was uncredited and his appearance was in reference only and he appeared non-speaking and as a corpse. I thought that an episode appearance count should be for an active not passive performance, what are your feelings?- MRMIKE T  C  E  22:22, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Hey there, Administrator. I need your help on a page that I made myself. It's about the page Ray (DHARMA Initiative). There has been written that he made a Season 4 appearance, while he didn't appear. could you remove that for me? Thanks.--Station7 15:46, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

LOST Magazine

Hey CTS, I received the new issue of the magazine today and the title ended up being different than what was revealed earlier. I added the rename tag so the title of the article can be changed and also the magazine template redirect needs to be changed to reflect this. I've been coming up with a new way to showcase each issue on here so I'll be editing a lot in the magazine section soon and would really appreciate it if the incorrect redirects could be fixed or those specific templates opened for myself or another member to fix the issue. I posted about this on the MagazineNav discussion page so please check it out. Sorry for the list of complaints, I know you do a lot of hard work around here, I'm just passing along some things that would really help myself and the community out. Thanks! --Wolvesfan08 Talk  Contribs  01:03, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Template:Ep and finales

Hey, I noticed you changed episode templates for the seasons 2–5 finales so that 2x23 renders "Live Together, Die Alone, Part 1" and 3x22 renders "Through the Looking Glass, Part 1", etc. It's a nice idea, but there is a CRAZY amount of uses throughout the wiki where the lower episode count is used to render the two-hour finale as a whole, or even the second part, via both Template:Ep and Template:Crossref. Template:Ep/3x22, for example, has over 500 links to it alone (Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Ep/3x22). It may be a nice idea in principle, but I think we may be too far down the rabbit hole at this point to change the way we implement those. -- Graft   talk   contributions  23:51, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Lockes apperances

Hey CTS I was wondering if you could help me out. Over on the Template:Character Appearances S6 page people have continued to basically vandalize the pg. After discussion it was decided that appearances in which the MIB appears as Locke will count for both MIB and Locke (considering we count appearances as a corpse Lockes body as well as thoughts/memories etc being used should count as well). However user have decided as of late to continually remove the appearances, I put a hidden note in refering them to the discussion but they just delete it. The one constant is its always new users who are doing this. So i was wondering if you could semi protect this pg from users newer than like 60 days or something. Thanks -- B1G CZYGS  Talk  Contribs  17:05, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

appearances

A user User:Pyramidhead has continually been changing the episode count for several characters who only appear in the fs timeline in certain episodes, the only problem is this was never discussed and half the site has different episode totals then the other half. Me along with several other users have undone his edits but hes persistent, not only that but he removes the "as of" which makes the totals even more confusing. I came up with a compromise which was counting the totals and adding a note in the trivia but he continues to undo my edits. Whenever i talk to him he ignores me so can you talk to him. -- B1G CZYGS  Talk  Contribs  22:09, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey CTS this problem has popped up again with another user User:Golden Monkey. Ive reverted his edits several times but he just keeps going. The funny thing is he will not discuss it, his words: "This is not even up for debate. Flash-sideways Boone IS NOT BOONE. This is over, and I will revert any changes made to the episode count." Idk sounds like a guy who doesnt wanna discuss it because he thinks a majority of people will not agree with him. I find it ridiculous that he is the only guy left doing this. I have reffered all other users who share his opinion to your message on pyramid heads talk pg and no one has brought this discussion up. This guy is basically saying he will gladly participate in an edit war. I was hoping you could get through to him. thanks-- B1G CZYGS  Talk  Contribs  22:35, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Please ban this user

Hello CTS, I noticed you made an edit not long ago. There is a situation that desperately needs moderator action in the community blogs here on Lostpedia. This user, Jt8845 has been posting several spoilers about the upcoming episodes and he has been at it all day. I have been trying to warn others to not visit his posts, but he is getting worse and worse, now resorting to personal attacks. He claims to have a roaming IP address and the problem has been reported several times already today (since at least 6:00am AZ Mountain Time) but there has been no response to this issue. The problem has gotten worse and a lot of people are upset and leaving Lostpedia until after the finale airs for fear of being spoiled. I don't know what else to do as no action has been taken in nearly 18 hours. Here are his contributions after creating his user profile today, http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Jt8845. Please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you.
