After watching 'LA X' and feeling somewhat satisfied with guessing the direction that the show has apparently chosen to head in for Season 6, I want to try and take a stab at posting another theory (which might refute my earlier one), in light of an EW interview with Darlton. After reading the interview, I'm wondering about whether the island sinking occurs not as a result of the hydrogen bomb, but as a result of Ben turning the wheel.
I'm abandoning my previous theory's use of "alternate" in regards to the second timeline that is created. Damon doesn't like it referred to that way, as it implies that it is not real. My sympathies to those who didn't like this reset stuff, but it seems pretty clear to me that what we're seeing with the plan…Read more >
Not normally one for posting short blogs with just the one question but I'm breaking from convention this time.
Does anyone else think that Jack is aware of his first life on Oceanic 815? When he seemed to recognise Desmond, it felt like the way Des recognised Charlie in Flashes Before Your Eyes - as if he was aware of living a second life. But then I recalled that they met in the stadium previously and in the alternate timeline, that meeting could still have happened. End of story. But the rest of the episode seemed to have those little moments. My suspicion is based on nothing other than the performance Matthew Fox gives so this is more a question about what people felt watching these episodes, as opposed to asking for evidence to support…Read more >
Much like everyone else, I have spent the last 8 months trying to understand which direction the show will take for Season 6. We've suggested whether the hydrogen bomb killed the characters or sent them back to 2008 with Locke and Ben at the statue's foot. Then the debate raged about whether we would have a reset that, for us, eliminates the last 5 seasons, and for the characters, the last 3+ years of their lives. But I don't think it's as simple as either of these. The characters are obviously still taking part in the story so "dead" is obviously a relative term. If the bomb does kill them, then they have to be alive in another timeline or in some other way. And how could they be shot back to Locke and Ben in 2007 if they've altered histo…Read more >
Here's a test for my ability to post links in a Wiki. Apologies if it doesn't work.
Found this on a blog I follow. Love the inventiveness of it and I'm trying to research whether ABC or Darlton backed it, as the placement of characters would then become important. Thomas the Apos... I mean Jack has the right idea standing in that position. But then again, they all seem to be doubting the false prophet. And I'd wonder if Claire being seated next to Richard and Ilana had any significance.Read more >
Upon watching Part 5 and 6 of the 'Mysteries of the Universe' videos, some information about the Dharma symbol has been "unearthed". It's easily watched so I won't go into it all here but the Dharma logo "is a Bagua symbol... that dates back to the Ancient Orient" (not sure if this was common knowledge or not since the intro of the DI in Season 2 but nevertheless). It represents protection and that when one stands in the centre, they are protected on all sides by the outside forces (represented by the 8 sides of the Octagon, ie. 8 opponents). This is all coming straight from the video itself. Now, does that sound like anything? The Temple! I'm happy to be proven wrong but I would hazard a guess that the wall we see surrounding the Temple i…Read more >
