Spoiler alert, obviously discusses the finale.
After the detonation of jughead, we start seeing the sideways world. Juliet remarks that "it worked" leading people to believe the time line was reset. After tonight we can clearly see it was not reset. If the FST was just purgatory until realizations were achieved, it was not created by the detonation of jughead and saying "it worked" is just wrong. Am I missing something or am I supposed to assume that Juliet couldn't comprehend what it was and thought it was a separate reality? The latter explanation does not satisfy me because it seemed once everyone achieved realization then they knew they were dead.
I am lukewarm following the ending. The finale gave a solid explanation of the FST but the …Read more >
So I thought a mild explanation for the numbers were that they corresponded with the candidates remaining. But if Kate is really a viable candidate as Jacob suggested, what about her number? I was mildly content with allowing the numbers to be explained as fate or destiny as reflected by the numbers representing the candidates but now I'm a little peeved about the situation. What if the con was on Sawyer the entire time to see what he would say and do to each party? I think it is possible MIB sent Sawyer to encounter Widmore and see what Sawyer would tell Widmore. Widmore then somehow contacted MIB and let him know what Sawyer did and then MIB tested Sawyer by seeing what he said or did to see if he could trust Sawyer. I think the ironic thing of the situation is that by trying to deceive MIB by telling the truth, it actually worked although not as Sawyer thought it would. Instead of the hoopla that Sawyer thinks will happen there will be no conflict between MIB and Widmore so while they trust Sawyer, Sawyer will not have his opportunity to leave the island.

Just thinking about Season 3 again and it hit me that we've never been told how Anthony Cooper was brought to the island. Ben said something about a magic box, but clarified he was not literal - what did he mean? How did Cooper get there? What was the point of trying to have Locke kill him with regards to how things have played out since?Read more >
When Locke falls down the well and needs to put the Season 4 finale wheel back on its track he runs into Christian Sheppard. Sheppard tells him he needs to die and Locke accepts this. Locke asks CS if he could help him up and CS says matter of factly, "No I can't." I think this relates to the discussion Jacob and MiB had saying "Do you know how badly I want to kill you" and the Season 5 finale statement "you found your loophole." MiB cannot directly kill Jacob, and he's been battling Jacob or facilitating the plan to kill Jacob by 'non-touching interactions,' while Jacob has been faciliting a counter-plan and had the encounters with the Ocean 6 where he placed his hands on them. MiB's manifestations cannot directly hurt or aid to the downf…Read more >
