This has been bothering me for some time and I apologise if this has been posted/commented on before.
I remember reading during the break between seasons 3 and 4 that there would only be 48 more episodes of Lost but instead of seasons 4 and 5 having 24 episodes each, there would be 3 more seasons each with 16 episodes.
I believe this came directly from Darlton and the importance of there only being a further 48 episodes was paramount. Apparently all would become clear and we'd all understand. It wasn't supposed to be a network driven initiative, rather something to do with the story and that it had to play out within the next 48 shows.
Can anyone remeber reading this and have an answer?
