Were the ending of Some Like It Hoth and The Package not a little similar?

They both ended with someone getting out of a submarine, who we had not seen in many episodes, and who had been off Island in a long time (Daniel/Desmond).

Then someone, who that was on the Island before they came, came out to the submarine and looked at the other person (Miles/Sayid).

Doesn't that look similar?
