This blog is alot more complex then the Vincent one...I had random weird thoughts about lost that I have been wanting to share..but I could seem to put them into words without sounding like an idiot. This took me a while to very intrested in hearing your feedback..sorry if some of these things dont make sense

This has been quit the semester for me. The thing I would like to talk to that is my intro to philosophy class. We discussed many things that have been brought up in lost. If you could go back in time and kill Hilter knowing who he would become would you? Or is it morally wrong to kill a child? If you were to travel back in time to try and prevent something bad from happening could you..or would you cause the thing that you were trying to prevent.Do we have free will? We talked about how on this planet there are rules. We can be certian of things because we understand these rules, these rules being laws of nature. We know we can not walk through a wall because we have certian laws or "rules". We defined miracle as breaking one of these rules.

So in order for a miracle to happen the rules must be broken

John Locke: "It's not an island, its a place where miracles happen."

...and with all the information we have been given so far..we only know that the rules don't apply to Desmond.

Daniel Faraday: "What is important, Desmond, is what I'm about to say to you. I need you to listen. You're the only person who can help us because, Desmond... the rules... the rules don't apply to you. You're special. You're uniquely and miraculously special."

We have heard other characters been called special like Desmond, example;Locke,Walt,Aaron. But Desmond is the only one we know of who rules don't apply to. Sure we may learn next season that Jacob,MIB, or Richard might also have this abilty...or any other character for that matter.

I have come up with a few theories based on these quotes..

Theory A)The rules being broken are what caused the island to be special....if thats so either Desmond would of had to time travel and break the rules..or it was caused by a bean that had been on the island for a while aka Richard, Jacob, or MIB

Theory B) The rules of the island were set up by either Jacob, MIB, or both..causing the unusual things to happen and Desmond will be the one to break these rules...which would ultimatly free the other characters from being a part of this game

Theory C) The rules don't apply to MIB...he may have known Desmond he could get around the rules..hence the doing this he killed Alex..remember Ben said to Widmore he broke the rules....Desmond will also find himself trying tio find a loophole

question: will claire getting on a helicopter have anything to do with his loophole?

to add on to theory c

im still not sure whether I think MIB breaking the rules was a good thing..but Desmond..who is one of the most loved characters on the show will evantually find him in a similar situation given what we know now..also That would mean Jacob is bad..I remember a line from Sawyer..i think it was season 3..the best way to con someone is to let them think its their own idea? We see Jacob tell Hurley its his choice to go back to the island. But if Hurley had not meet Jacob he would not have gone he did not go on his free was Jacob who got him there..however Hurley thinks this was his decesion.....sorry..i think I rambled

Whatever the case may be I think the fact that Desmond doesnt have to play by the rules will play into the big reveal..or the climax of the story..Desmond will be one of..if not the most importiant characters in LOST
