Is there a connection with the fact that Jacob's Nemesis says "my friend"?

Caesar repeatedly said "my friend." So much so that it's pointed out by other characters -- including Fake Locke. It's as though the writers are trying to show that those two words are very important.

Jacob's Nemesis, however, said "my friend" to Jacob years and years earlier on the beach.

Normally, I'd think this was just a coincidence. Plenty of people say "my friend" when they speak, but I have only ever noticed two characters say it on Lost: Caesar and Jacob's Nemesis.

Does this mean anything?
