I don't know if this has already been discussed, but im sure you have noticed that when we see dead people walking around the island, there bodies have also mysteriously disappeared, but we see Flocke walking around, and yet Locke's body is in the crate. My guess is this is further evidence that the smoke monster is not Mib. It seems in the other cases, the smoke monster (?) can take the form of people who have died on island, but needs the body. So is he just mimicking Lockes appearance? But what did he mean by "in a manner of speaking" when Ben asked if they met if hes not actually "in" Lockes body. Because if its actually Mib just mimicking then yes he HAS met Jacob before. Or was that just for Bens benefit? Whew
