  1. 4)Bible: If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

--Matthew 17:20 Lost: (speculation only) Jacob grants eternal life unto Richard, because of the things he asked him for, this was the only one he asked for out of faith.

  1. 7) Bible: And remember, when someone wants to do wrong it is never God who is tempting him, for God never wants to do wrong and never tempts anyone else to do it. James 1:13

Lost: MIB convinces others to carry out his bidding.

these are just a few things I noticed. I'm in no way saying that Jacob is difinatively God, or that MIB is definatively the devil (if anything, this episode proves the opposite). I'm simply trying to point out that the relationship between Jacob/MIB/Richard is based heavily biblical material. Indeed, I suggest that the book of revelation may hold many clues into how the show may end...
