How come Ilana did not know who Richard was?

O K, so Jacob came to see her personally off Island and she knew who he was. When she gets to the Island she knows how to find the cabin, and she also knows to look for Jacob at the statue and where its location is. But when she gets there she asks which one of them is Ricardus. How is it that she knows so much about the Island and she knows Jacob but not Richard?
