Hello fellow LOST fans. Re-watching S4 right now off the DVR... just finished watching the first 2 episodes, and have a question about Charlie.
In the S4 Premiere, we see Hurley having visions of Charlie in the convenience store and the police station, and he goes back into the Santa Rosa Mental Hospital.
My question in about the next vision of Charlie: while outside, another patient sees Charlie first, and tells Hurley he has a visitor.
PATIENT: I'd watch out if I were you.
HURLEY: What you talking about, dude?
PATIENT: There's a guy over there, staring at you.
HURLEY: What guy?
PATIENT: [The patient points] That guy.
[Hurley looks over and looks scared. Charlie is standing by a car] ... ... ...
HURLEY: I may be in a mental hospital, but I know you're dead and I'm not having an imaginary conversation with you.
[Charlie takes off his sunglasses and stares Hugo in the eyes]
CHARLIE: I am dead. But I'm also here.... And now you have to do something. But you're hiding from it. That's the real reason you ran when you saw me in the store. You knew I was here to tell you. They need you Hugo. You know they need you.
He counts to five and Charlie is gone. I don't think it was a normal "vision" because the other patient saw Charlie too... so you have to assume he was really there in physical form, right? So, my question is... do you think it may be possible that this form of Charlie was Jacob in disguise? ... much like Nemesis did with Locke (Flocke)? What does Hurley have to do?
