OK so just re-watched S4 Finale and as usual noticed some things I thought were quite interesting:
1.) Does anyone else think it's strange that Widmore automatically KNEW the secondary protocol was to go to The Orchid??? What do you think that means??? All I could come up with was that he as previous leader of the island already knew about the FDW and moving the island was "standard procedure" whenever outsiders cam to threaten the island... ??
- And a follow-up question... if Widmore wasn't even on the island, and he still KNEW Ben would go to turn the wheel, then why did Ben/Locke/Hurley need to go to the cabin to have Jacob (Christian on Jacob's behalf) tell them they needed to move the island ???
2.) And how about Locke's talk with Jack at The Orchid... how did Locke know that Jack would regret leaving the island ??? He basically predicted exactly what ended up happening:::
LOCKE: But you're not supposed to go home.
JACK: And what am I supposed to do? Oh, I think I remember. What was it that you said on the way out to the hatch--that crashing here was our destiny?
LOCKE: You know, Jack. You know that you're here for a reason. You know it. And if you leave this place, that knowledge is gonna eat you alive from the inside out...until you decide to come back.
JACK: Good-bye, John.
LOCKE: You're gonna have to lie.
All I can think here is that maybe there was some new "purpose" or "understanding" of the island for Locke after Cerebus tried to pull him into the hole ??
3.) And lastly the conversation between Hurley and Walt didn't make sense to me:::
WALT: Do you know who did come see me? Jeremy Bentham. I don't understand why you're all lying.
HURLEY: (Lowered voice) We're lying... because it's the only way to protect everyone that didn't come back.
WALT: Like my dad?
HURLEY: Like your dad, yeah.
Last time Walt saw Michael was out the window when Michael tried to visit him and his grandmother wouldn't let him (Meet Kevin Johnson). That's when Micheal tried to kill himself but couldn't and Tom recruited him back to the freighter. But Walt didn't know this right? What would make Walt think the Michael was back on the island ???
Just some random thoughts of new things I caught on the re-watch... all comments are welcome
