In LA X, when the underwater island is shown, there is clearly one of the ankhs that was originally held by the statue of Tawaret, sitting by the foot.
Doesn't this indicate that the underwater island was destroyed at a time when the statue was a whole? Because the ankh appears to be right where the group of others are standing in the present time, and it sure wasn't there then. Perhaps in the alternate timeline (for lack of a better title), the island was desroyed much before the DHARMA folk came there, which is also backed up by the fact that the houses seen underwater looked much more like "other-ville" than the DHARMA barracks.
