I was wondering about Desmond's erratic behaviour at the end of "Happily", why he would follow blindly Widmore, or Sayid ... And I've had a horrible thought : what if he's been, like Sayid, turned into one of MIB's puppet zombies of death ? I mean, maybe Widmore was wrong, waybe the electromagnetic device DID kill him, and MIB "claimed" him too fast for Widmore's men to notice he was ever dead. I prefer to think that whatever alternate-Desmond experienced explains OT Desmond's odd behaviour ... but what if it's just the infection ? That means MIB would have a HUGE ace in the hole !!!
