I don't know if someone else has posted this already but here goes - I saw in Ab Aeterno that MiB told Jacob that he would kill him and escape from the island. And soon after Jacob leaves, he breaks the wine bottle and and all the wine spills out. I think it was pretty clear that Jacob represented the bottle and hence all the candidates too would be like layers of coating over the bottle. I believe that MiB's mission is to kill all the candidates so he can leave the island for good.

This is similar to what happened with Dogen. When Sayid kills Dogen, Lennon tells him that"He was the only thing keeping it out." After Dogen's death, MiB was able to enter the temple and kill everyone.

    Richard and Hurley

In Dr Linus, Hurley implies that he saw Richard in 1977(30 years ago). I don't really remember this meeting. Do any of you?

We've seen in all the flash sideways that the characters are similar to their 2007 counterparts. Their circumstances may have changed but they are still the same in regards to behavior, attitude, morals, etc. What I mean to say is that their core personality is still the same. For example - Sayid is still a murderer/torturer, Jack is still a surgeon who has had many issues with his dad, Ben cares very much for Alex, Claire is pregnant and so on.

What if the purpose of the flash-sideways is to show us that no matter how the circumstances change, the characters will still remain the same?

    Mattingly

    February 24, 2010 by Krank1

We saw that 'Mattingly' was one of Jacob's candidates. But earlier in season 5, Richard reveals that he was forced by his superior(presumably Jacob) to kill Mattingly. Why would Jacob order one of his own candidates to be killed? Seems fishy

    sonic fence and smokey

    February 20, 2010 by Krank1

It was shown in season 3 episode 'Left Behind' that the sonic fence was able to stop the monster. But in 'Par Avion', the A-team was able to climb over the sonic fence. Why can't smokey do the same? Why cant he just go over the fence?
