I'm afraid if you're looking for your next Island, Hurley fix, you may not find it with this show. I watched the two hour premiere and was not very impressed. Jorge Garcia hardly had anything to do or anything to say. He basically followed around this short haired blonde police woman, as she tried to find out why prisoners from Alacatraz are showing up in the present day killing people and the prisoners have never aged. Now I knew this from the promos before the show began, but throughout the two hours, they kept asking that question, over and over and over again.
Hurley (actually Dr. Diego, I think that was his name) is a Criminologist, Civil War History expert, who wrote three books on Alcatraz, is also a comic book writer who also owns a comic book store.(What a resume!) But if your looking for Hurleyisms, look elsewhere if the pilot is any indication. Doc Diego usually just stood around and after one attempt at an explanation as to what was going on, he turns to the camera and flatly states, "Anyone else's head about to explode?" (Not really funny!) Later he makes some reference to the Batcave, when he goes into a secret underground room.
As for the others, they were all one dimensional, straight out of central casting, boring characters. Maybe the show will improve gvien time (I'll watch one more time) but from what I saw, its definitely no Lost. (But then again Lost was so great, how could it be?)
