  • @Pexxoum Actors put themselves in whichever category they think they should be in for that particular role. Terry O' Quinn puts himself in the supporting category for Lost. Matthew Fox and Evangelline Lilly are the only Lost actors who put themselves in the lead actor and actress categories.

  • He's on Breaking Bad. He was the dad on Malcolm in the Middle.

  • I am sorry...Who is Cranston? What character did he play in what show? I don't watch a ton of tv, howeever we do watch House and Hugh Laurie is a Emmy favorite he is very good but not amazing like our characters. Mathew Fox was so incredibly brilliant this season i really hope he gets it. However, Hollywood lovesLaurie's aethestic character and i think that Hollywood may not reward a spiritual show such as Lost - but I hope tht cynicl view is dead wrong. My money is on JAAAACK!

  • Though I think Fox did an excellent job this season, I'm not sure he'll get it. I'd say it's going to Cranston or Laurie. Laurie's really been shining this last season, makes me think he might have the extra push needed to take it home.

O' Quinn would be my favorite for the Supporting Actor role. Excellent performance. Emerson would be a good choice, as well, though I'd say O' Quinn was a little better this season.

Ab Aeterno deserves an Emmy, too.

Heck, Lost deserves most of the Emmies that it was nominated for.

  • NICE!

  • They need al 13 Emmy's. :)

  • Scratch that thing about darlton. Just looked at the link. It should win for best drama series too.

  • Matthew Fox, Terry O Quinn, and Ab AEterno desereve to win. WHy no Carlton or Damon noms?

  • Ab Aeterno got nominated for Outstanding Art Direction, and I reckon it has a good shot.

Great to see Fox nominated for Leading Actor, he deserves it but he has some seriously tough competition. If I had to make a call now, I'd say Bryan Cranston gets the statue.

  • It seemed like he was a leading actor throughout all of Season 6. I just can't see the Man in Black as a supporting role.

  • @Pexoum: O'Quinn was brilliant and truely amazing you won't get any argument from anyone anywhere. But he is not the lead actor, it has always been jack and has less to do with screen time. Jack plays the lead and all others are supporting. It is tough to pick between Emerson and O'quinn as they are both incredible but in Season 6 there is no debate. Terry O'Quinn played two different Locke characters and MiB as Locke - that alone is an amazing feat but how he effectively communicated three different persons and his acting moves beyond art - words cannot describe how amazing and skilled terry O'Quinn is, especially in Season 6!!

  • @Balk and @Just Saying: so glad we all agree on this one! :) Jack was nothing short of amazing, and Just saying, I totally agree with "The Look" that jack had on his face when he meets MiB in Locke form for the first time. This was brilliant! His facial expression conveyed SO many emotions at once and PURE FEAR. Also the part with Christian in the end, he ws so overwhelmed with emotion - I cnnot think of one time in Season 6 where I was not totally capitivated by his performance and how much he was JACK. He has the most incredible facial expression and the way his voice breaks. He effectively recreated Jack in s6 and it was so beleiveable for one but so engrossing and compelling.

It is rare to see this kind of quality acting in TV but of course on Locke we have many of these incredilbe actors including O'Quinn, Emerson, Cusiack, and many more.

There are no lead actors that could possibly stand up to Fox's portrayal of Jack. It was beyond Brilliant!! And hands down the best facial expressions EVER!

  • Well that makes sense as far as the category goes. Maybe the same actor can't be a leading and supporting actor?

  • Do you think they're crediting Locke but not MIB?

  • I'm sure that O'Quinn had if not equal screen time, enough to be considered a lead. The final season had alot more of Terry than any other.

  • @Pexxoum, it's a good question. I'm not entirely sure of the answer, but I'm guessing, it might have something to do with actual screen time? Pretty sure, I've read that Jack has the most screen time of any of the actors in LOST.

  • @Balk, Totally agree with you on this one!

  • No number of Emmy's can sufficiently recognize Jack's skill.

  • I'm confused as to why O'Quinn wasn't considered for best actor, as I believe his role in the finale season changed from supporting to lead with his potrayal of the Man in Black. Anyone agree?

  • There were times in S6, I wondered, what the heck happened to Jack's character, when I realized he did such a good job of acting "out of his character". But there are two specific scenes that I think really sealed the deal for his nomination. The first is when he meets MiB in JL's image for the first time. The second is his amazing performance with Christian in the church. In both cases, it was so much more than the delivery of his words. It was his facial expressions and body language that really made those specific scenes and performances so compelling.

  • I don't think that Fox will win the Emmy for Best Actor just because there are just too many great actors in that category, but I would be very shocked if Emerson or O'Quinn doesn't win Best Supporting Actor. Knowing they have both won before and how marvelous their acting was in this final season, one of the two really deserves to win the Emmy, preferably Terry O'Quinn. He was really just amazing this season, and Emerson was really good too. Good luck LOST!

  • I like Mitchell and all, but I think it's weird that she got nominated for a couple minutes screentime. Also, for those interested, Nestor couldn't be nominated for just Ab Aeterno, he would've had to take the place of O'Quinn or Emerson in the supporting actor category, which wouldn't have been right considering how much more those two meant to the season and the show in general

  • Elizabeth Mitchell! Brilliant 5 minutes.

  • Wow, way to rock out those 3 minutes of screentime, Elizabeth Mitchell. Of course those were some pretty great minutes.

    Perhaps Nestor Carbonell didn't apply?
