I need a lot of your opinions...
Okay, I have been trying my very best today to try and get BalkOfFame to be a new admin for lostpedia. C'mon, who thinks he shouldn't?? Anyway, I have had no luck because for them to grant him the privileges of an admin, we need all of your thoughts and the other admins on lostpedia.
Anyway, so instead of just making more and more admins, why don't we keep the number of admins the same as it is. How? By removing Mr. Leaf's privileges, and making him a non admin. Why him, you ask? Because he has been inactive since January 2010.
Now lets get some comparing going. Who would you rather have as an admin...
Balk
- Active daily
- Made nearly 13,000 edits
- All his edits are of good quality
- Never been banned (I assume)
- Never vandals or breaks rules
- Is nice to people
- He listens to other people's thoughts
- He doesn't get involved in arguments (If he does it is to resolve them)
- I don't know anyone that hates him or doesn't like him
Mr. Leaf
- Inactive for months
- I highly doubt he will ever come back (If he does, I ain't sure I want him as an amin)
So really, I just want to know your thoughts... do you want BalkOfFame as an admin? If the majority say yes, then I will take this further to the other admins on here and we will sort something out hopefully.

YES, is my vote for Balk as an Admin. With his effort and dedication to Lostpedia, a well deserved promotion is definitely in order.
My only hope is, he wants this distinguished honor.

I'll be really happy to see Balk become an admin of Lostpedia. But I agree with HorribleEyes, Balk himself is really great. There's no need to compare and talk down old admin

We don't want a "hostile takeover," let's not talk down a previous user to make Balk seem more worthy, its insulting to the both of them. How about providing reasons why Balk would be a good choice. Or anyone else for that matter. To truly be "fair" shouldn't we be open to suggestions? Let's be fair and civil, that usually gets the job done with less mess, 'kay?

I totally agree with HorribleEyes. Balk is so well suited to become an Admin, there is absolutely no need to promote him at another's expense. PLUS, this type of promotion is not a very good representation of us as a Lostpedia community.

Well I didn't really insult the other admin, I just said Balk would be better to have because Mr. Leaf has been inactive for 9 months now. Hardly insulting him... is it?

I'm pretty sure you really do understand the point presented. Anytime someone is compared to another as one being more suited to a position, it's insulting to the one not being promoted. It's really that simple.
Your promotion of Balk is certainly admirable and appreciated by many. I applaud your efforts in this regard. Let's keep the focus on the positive.

Everyone seems to be happy with Balk being admin, how about on Jabrwocky7's talk page, you can all leave a message asking for them to really consider them making Balk admin, I'm sure if they see how badly we want him to be one, they will make him one :)

Well they have removed Mr. Leaf's privileges, but they haven't said much about BalkOfFame yet. Don't worry, I ain't giving up until he is admin!

Well I am guessing there started out with one admin, the creator of lostpedia, and then I assume he appointed the privileges to other people who he thought was good candidates for the job :)

As long as Balk wants the position, it's his as far as I'm concerned. He frequently is a level-headed participant in discussions, and he certainly has been here long enough and has made enough edits to warrant a promotion. That said, I know nothing of the rules and regulations in becoming an admin, but Balk is a great help around here. I consider his opinion to be equal to an admin's.

Good to hear, as active as he is I wouldn't imagine that he's not interested.
Besides, he has the most points and badges! ...just kidding, those points don't mean anything to quality of edits, only quantity.

Well, Julietfan, I don't want to mess up your mission or anything, and I agree with you, but I think maybe instead of thinking "replace", you should think more "anoint" (in the non-holy way). Like if our town tried to overthrow the mayor, it just wouldn't work. It would be like an employee firing the manager. Kinda hard to explain, but I mean it's kind of a stab in the back. Mr.Leaf did something to become an administrator, a position of power, and it is difficult to just take that away from him.

I would rather see an active admin who actually listens to the opinions of the users on lostpedia other than just a waste of space who hasn't done anything for 9 months!! Is that too much to ask?!

Mr. Leaf clearly doesn't give a donkey's behind about lostpedia any more, if he did he would be on here, helping. But no, so I don't think he cares about his privileges. I am just doing what the big boss wikia people told me to do

Your thinking very...2 dimensionally. Sorry if you don't get what I mean, but if the president is elected president, and he doesn't do anything, he's still the president. BalkOfFame is "admin worthy", I think, but it's you can't overthrow the president. Mr.Leaf has authority over him. I know it's a little late so it doesn't really matter anymore. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, it makes more sense in my mind. Hope Balk does become an admin though!
