In the last episode, Jacob handed the MiB the bottle of wine to pass the time. Earlier in a discussion with Richard, Jacob had talked about how the cork kept the bottle closed and that the island was like a cork. Instead of taking off the cork, the MiB destroyed the whole bottle by smashing it on the log. Protecting the cork will do little good if the bottle has been broken, so is it possible that the MiB is not lying when he says the island doesn't need protection, it's everything else that does.Read more >
Long time reader, first time poster and I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. We know from Hawking that the island is always moving. So, there are only a couple of possible scenarios that would allow the losties to move through time while staying in the exact same spot on the island. 1. While the island is always moving, each of the time flashes send the losties to a historical period in which the island has occupied the same exact geographical position. 2. The time flashes create a worm hole to transport the losties to the exact same spot on the island in a different geographical location. 3. It was a simple oversight and we should enjoy the time travel without thinking of the geographical travel.
