Not too sure if this blog has been done before, but LOST and Apocalypse Now have VERY similar plots/plot devices/plot elements. I'm probably going to list these, feel free to agree/disagree and discuss.

    1. Apocalypse Now and LOST are effectively set in "hell". Although Apocalypse Now is set in the jungles of Vietnam, similarities to the Island are pretty much inferred, particularly how the experiences of the conflict in Vietnam and experiencing/surviving the Island results in certain insanity for example Kilgore's exclamation of "I love the smell of napalm in the morning, it smells like victory" and Dennis Hopper's portrayal as the demented journalist prancing about shouting "Was he a good man, was he a kind man?!"

    2. Jack and Hurley, like W…

    My Thoughts On Hurley

    August 11, 2010 by Islandmatrix

This might be an observation, although not a particularly well-honed one, that in horror movies, the fat guy is usually one of the first people to get killed. Prior to watching LOST, I had assumed that Hurley(Hugo Reyes) would be the first survivor to "leave the Island", as he lacked the survival instincts of Locke, Sawyer and Sayid as well as(I am loath to say this) the svelte physique of Jack and Boone. But, at the very end of the series, Hurley becomes the protector of the Island and Jack's well, dead. I wonder why?

I think that Hurley survived to the very end and became Jacob's replacement was because his life was effectively a clean slate compared to a conman(Sawyer), a convicted and hot felon(Kate), a doctor with an obsession for fixi…

Sorry if this question has been asked before or seems redundant or whatever, but what happened to the people who left on the Ajira plane? Did they manage to escape from the Island? Did they end up returning to the Island? Did they crash? It just seemed quite "up in the air" to excuse the awful pun.

Having seen 6 seasons of LOST and having watched various members of the main cast dying or dead all because of the whims of two equally deeply twisted and evil feuding brothers. The song "Desperate Cry" owned by Sepultura, all rights reserved. There are actually a lot of LOST references if you look hard enough.

Sacrifice is pleasure When life ends in pain Conceive the last mistake Which belongs to all

Creation of insane rule All we hear: Desperate cry

Death the coldest wind Seeps into your pores A nation born of hate Forgotten distant time

Creation of insane rule All we hear: Desperate cry

Endless empty maze Despair, distress and silence A poison vacuum, infinity Life, lies, deceit

Mute souls end in silence Oceans tainted with blood Empty promi…

Well, Desmond got thrown into the well by (F)Locke?MiB and he's presumed to be dead, or very badly injured. However, what if he went back to the FST as he can clearly travel through the two timelines as well as travel through time as we have previously seen. So if Desmond's still alive, he'll be alive in the FTS or he'll be alive in another time because he must have somehow survive his fall to the bottom of the well. I don't think that this is the last we'll ever see of Desmond, what if he was "Wallace" ie the final candidate, then he'd most likely have to show up then wouldn't he? And as the Iron Maiden song goes, Desmond could very well be "Caught Somewhere in Time".....
