Well I guess one of the main themes of LOST has been the relationships between Fathers and daughters (Ben and his daughter, Widmore and his daughter), Fathers and sons (Jack and Christian, Locke and his father, Jack and his son, Miles and Dr. Chang, Michael and his son, Hurley and his father), Mothers and Daughters (Kate and her mother) etc... I think the reason Kate, Miles and Locke have been crossed off the list is that they had awful relationships with their parents. Betrayal, abandonment and even attempted murder. Perhaps Claire was cautioned about raising Aaron was because of this. Don't know exactly what this has to do with the game and rules but I think we will find out soon.
