Seems to me that the only way it makes real sense is if they all died when the plane(Oceanic 815) crashed. The rest was just Jack working his way to redemption. The island was and is purgatory and all the characters (background stories and all) were planted in Jack's mind by some higher power to give him his shot at finding his way to Heaven. After all most of the time we are seeing things from his perspective. Funny how Locke told him "You don't have a son, Jack". Even at the end, his is dying in the bamboo field, it was really him dying after the initial crash. Anyway, it was a highly entertaining show. `Nuff said.

The biggest question in my mind is what is holding MIB on the island. Many people have left before why doesn't he just jump on a boat/sub/go into the warp zone and leave? Please don't say it's to kill the remaining candidates because that just doesn't seem necessary.

I'm a bit confused about the power of light from the cave. Mother says it is life, death, rebirth and more; something worse than death. But it is obvious that John Locke, Ben, Polar bears, rabbits and probably Jacob have ventured into it. They did not become smoke monsters, so why did MIB? Was Mother lying/stretching the truth? Theories about the light?

Just after MIB stabbed her, she gasps and turns to him and says something (sounded like one or two words). Then they have a short conversation. I couldn't understand it but it sounded like she may have said his name. Anyone know?

Who do you think re-dug the well and finished building the donkey wheel? Doesn't seem likely to me that it was MIB. What do you think?
