Whereas many of my other blog posts have been all-encompassing or theoretical, I wanted to instead delve into a mystery that really seems -- at least to me -- to have very vague reasonings to support it.

My question is, why would Ben kill Locke, and then insist that his body be brought back? Was Ben aware that Locke would become resurrected? If not, what was his intentions with Locke's body? According to Widmore in episode 5x07 "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham," it is necessary for Locke to be back on the Island, so that the 'wrong side' won't win. Widmore is obviously aware of an upcoming battle. If Ben is too, why would he bring back Locke, a man who he personally killed and knows is going to be the main wrench in his gears?

Thoughts, comments, concerns? Anyone? For once, I've found a mystery that I don't have a clue about.
