Rewatch Blog: Homecoming:
Here's the rewatch blog for "Homecoming," Charlie's second centric of Season 1, and one of the worst episodes of Season 1 and the entire series. When asked what was his least favorite episode of the series, Damon passed over the obvious "Stranger in a Strange Land" and chose this episode. What ruined this episode for me was the flashbacks and some of the acting, but nevertheless I will still try to pull things out of this episode just like I've done with all of my other rewatch blogs. These blogs will attempt to document dominant themes, issues, and plotlines as they develop and how they relate to later parts of the show.
A puzzling part of this episode was that I often found Terry O'Quinn's acting, as Locke, unconvincing and flat at times…
Rewatch Blog: Special...Sometimes When He's Around Things Happen. He's Different Somehow.
Here's the rewatch blog for "Special", Walt's first and only centric and the 14th episode of Season 1. This episode improves on the previous "Hearts and Minds" and pretty much lays out the framework for Walt and Michael's story arcs. This blog, and all my other rewatch blogs, will attempt document important issues, themes, and plotlines as they develop in this episode and proceeding episodes.
The first and last lines of Season 1 are Michael screaming "Walt!!" As this episode shows, the main action we see Michael partaking in the entire series is looking for Walt. In this episode, it almost seemed interesting, but by Season 2 Michael's only lines seemed to be "Waltttt!!!!!" as he stumbled around the jungle angrily looking for his son. Up un…
Rewatch Blog: Special...Coming Soon. Tentatively titled "Sometimes When He's Around Things Happen. He's Different Somehow.

Rewatch Blog: Hearts and Minds...You're Gonna Have To Pee on My Foot, Man
Sorry for the long delay in posting this rewatch blog for "Hearts and Minds," the 13th episode of Season 1 and Boone's only centric. While certainly not the greatest episode of Season 1, there are a few fairly interesting things to pull from this episode. As always, these blogs will attempt to make connections from the current episode's issues, themes, and plotlines to later parts of the show.
For me, the most interesting part of the episode, given what we know and have seen now that the series is over, is the beach-side conversation between Jack and Locke. Jack comes over and asks about whether Locke sees a ship, and asks "Mind if I join you?" Does this sound familiar? It should if you watched the opening scene to Season 5's finale, the fa…
Rewatch Blog: Whatever the Case May Be...Golly, I Hate To Bicker About Positions Sweetheart
Here's the rewatch review for "Whatever the Case May Be," Kate's second centric and the 12th episode of Season 1. There's honestly not a whole lot going on in this episode, it's never been one of my favorites. Here's what I pulled out of the episode, and how it relates to later parts of the show.
A big aspect of the episode is moving the first beach camp up farther away from the advancing tide. Sayid remarks to Jack, "Everything is getting washed out to sea. This can't be normal. The tide shifting so suddenly, rising in so short a time." Jack replies, "There's not a lot normal around here." Unless I'm mistaken, this is the first reference to how time seems to move differently on the Island. From what we've seen so far on the show, the Islan…
