And now it's time for the Jacob Pick of the Week!

For this week's Jacob Pick of the Week, I've chosen...
While Jin was working as a doorman at the Seoul Gateway Hotel, where his boss had explicitly instructed him not to open the door for common people, Jacob showed up, posing as a poor Korean man with a small boy who desperately needed to use the bathroom. Jacob was testing to see what was more important to Jin -- keeping his job, or showing compassion to a suffering young boy. Jin let the man and his son into the hotel, and Jacob told Jin that he was a "good man", thus indicating that Jin had passed the test.
Not only did Jin pass Jacob's test, but this incident set Jin on a direct course that eventually led him to the Island. Upon being reprimanded by his boss for doing the right thing, Jin immediately quit his job, and later that same day, he met Sun. He ended up marrying Sun and working for her father, Mr. Paik, the man who sent him to Sydney and Los Angeles to deliver watches, thus putting him on Oceanic Flight 815. This is all just the beginning of fulfilling Jacob's purpose for both Jin and Sun, whose experiences on the Island, particularly maturing their relationship with each other, prepare them for their destiny. It's still an ongoing process, as Sun and Jin are separated by 30 years of time upon her return to the Island and Christian Shephard tells Sun that she has a "long journey" ahead of her before she and Jin can reunite. But it is all part of Jacob's plan, which began on that one day, just outside the front door of the Seoul Gateway Hotel.
So, congratulations, Mr. Poor Korean Man. You are the Jacob Pick of the Week!
