Our excitement of the day was that we got to eat chicken for lunch. A few of us spotted a live chicken wandering near the beach, and about six of us surrounded it and tried to catch it, which wasn't easy. Goodwin eventually caught it and killed it by breaking its neck, and then he skinned and gutted it and roasted it over the fire. (I'm glad I didn't have to be the one to do all that.) Sure, it's just one chicken, which isn't much when divided amongst 16 people, but it was good to finally be eating some real meat. And it's much healthier than the kind of processed chicken meat that you'd find at places like KFC or Mr. Cluck's. I never really realized this, but... I like chicken.
