Wallace is not important!

Is anyone else annoyed at all the attention given to "Wallace"? The whole reason for them going to the lighthouse was so Jack would see his name. They didn't really even need to turn the dial to 108! I just think that the writers picked 108 because it is one of the numbers familiar to the fans and we would all go "Ooooooooh! Goodie! Goodie!" That's it. Maybe I'll be shut up in the next few episodes when "Wallace" shows up to save the island. Who knows!
