So, we now know that Kate is a candidate, but that she is not number 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 or 42, but in fact 51. This got me thinking:

All through LOST, Hurley has said the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 are cursed when they come together, and we have seen that some of the important plots in LOST involve the numbers: flights 815 and 316 both crash on the island, the button had to be pressed every 108 (the sum of the numbers) minutes, the lottery numbers, the French team being stranded after hearing the numbers....

Since they were introduced in the first series, we have been focusing on the events that have been happening and trying to figure out what the numbers signify and are they actually cursed. What if we are looking in the the wrong direction?

We have seen only two candidates that have not been crossed of the list so far that are not 'the numbers', Austen(51) and Kysea(60). What is the ideal candidate is not 'a number'?

Also to add to the confusion, Kate's 51 is 15 backwards....
