Death of Jacob
John Locke had to go through everything he did (go off the island, die, come back) so that he could come back to help Jacob... by killing him. Why kill him, i don't know but Jacob said "Help Me" to John very clearly and only John Heard it. Ever since then, he's seen Christian Shephard twice, who speaks on Jacob's behalf. Shepherd told him to do what he did, that he had to die etc. Christian Shepherd is part of the Island. He told Michael "He could go now" right before he died. He knows whats going on on the island and speaks for Jacob. Maybe Richard and Ben were using Jacob, or just using the notion of Jacob, to exploit various things. But for whatever reason, John has been long destined to come to the Island and fulfill his proph…
Pierre Chang's Death/Variables/Incident/Daniel/Hydrogen Bomb
I think that Pierre Chang will die or has died preventing the leak at the swan station from becoming too devastating.
"I was just making sure your father does what he's supposed to do." - Daniel to Miles
This goes back to the whatever happened, happened concept. "Variables" can't change anything, but they do a lot of things to help the future along. This has been reccuring in lost: People helping along the future. For example, Daniel making sure chang does what he's supposed to, Eloise encouraging her son to go to the island, Hurley writing Empire Strikes Back, Kate helping the young benjamin linus knowing he will be alive in the future. All of these things already happened and are part of history. Although Daniel said that "the variable…
Time Travel 3
Maybe that's what Faraday did (turn the wheel to save Charlotte). Faraday isn't crazy, he's got a better grasp than anyone on space time, other than his mother. If he really thought that she would die anyway, he wouldn't have done it. Maybe he thinks that he actually can change time and make a "new street". He talks to Desmond to get him to talk to his mother in the future which is essentially changing Desmond's past to have the memory of Faraday at that time. This was basically contrary to Faraday's previous theory that you will be stopped if you try to change things. Usually, if you were about to change something, another flash would happen and you would be gone. This is what happened to Desmond and Faraday but Desmond retained th…
TIME TRAVEL Part 2
I think the fact is that Widmore never had that memory until John literally did that in real time (went to Richard's camp and met Locke). It's like time was changed, memories were changed. Pretend locke is in a real time time line. He never saw Widmore until he did it. Widmore didn't have those memories until Locke (in his own time line) was time traveling and he encountered Widmore. Unless you think that everything is predestined or predetermined, and Locke was meant (according to his future timeline which is essentially pre-written out for him) to go and meet Widmore because that is the memory that Widmore had since a youngster. This concept of predetermination/destiny kinda sounds like the writers, but I don't think that it is tru…
