How David created in afterlife? he is just an idea in jack's mined? How david his mother was Julait? may be jack marry her in after life? they are not leave but moving on, but How are they stick in life? are they waiting for jack? Are the people in the Hospiatl real,the surgery for jhon locke real !,the vending machine !real !, the concert real !, if they aren't ? then How that happen ,are they travel on 815 and they was dead? How? if they are real How christan told Jack How you here? because they dead ,soooooooooooo all acianice 815 are dead like jack. IF JACK SAVE THE ILSAND, HOW is it sumberged?

that's doesn't make any sense, if jack was on that plan from Sydney was real ,and David when he was waiting for jack was a fake ,then where is the right thing i am lost.

In my opinion, it was all 'real' to Jack. In his own mind he had all of those surreal experiences and like others comments above, I agree that he created David as the son he would have wanted. His subconscious also created Juliet as the mother of his child but because of his own father/parent issues, he created similar problems for himself. Things hadn't worked out with Sarah in the past, (who looked a bit like Juliet?) and so he expected and assumed the same problems in the FST. But he was able to fix everything so that he was able to complete the story for himself and Kate (and all of the other characters that had shared in the island experiences) and move on to the afterlife. He was able to fix John so he could walk again, bring back all the couples for their 'happy ever afters', have the father/son relationship he always wanted and also had Kate as his soul mate.
The island was submerged in the FST because Jack imagined it that way (maybe as a result of the detonation of the bomb?). He created the conversation between Ben and his Dad, it was all like a dream to him to enable him to let go.

I believe that TPTB have said that the island being submerged was to show what life was like with out the influence of the island. But then again why was Ben's dad talking about it in the altverse? That has never made sense to me. I think that the "altverse" or what ever you want to call it could be real to some degree. I mean Charlie was able to visit Hurley at Santa Rosa when he was "here but not really here". So why can't everyone else interact somehow in the real world. I dunno....I'm Lost!

I have to agree with James-sawyer. As Christian told Jack "There is no now...here". Time is irrelevant in the FST. However, I can't say with certainty that the FST started during the 815 plane ride to Los Angeles. In my opinion the FST started in different times for each character.
I do believe that Jack made David up in his mind to deal with his father issues (as James-sawyer said)
But......Christian did tell Jack that "All of this is real..."
SO...............It's only up to you, the viewer to decide what's real and what's not.

The island was submerged in the afterlife to show that it wasn't relevant there. The real island was not submerged, therefore Jack saved the real island.

Basically from what I understood time was irrelevant in the "afterlife". But for this discussion let's say the "afterlife" began on the plane, as shown in LA X. So in the "afterlife" there was no before this. None of it was real, David was just in my opinion created by Jack for him to deal with his relationship with his own father. So Juliet was David's mother only to have and explanation for where David came from. But again none of it was real. All of it was happened purely for the survivors to remember their time on the island. Well, I hope this helps.
