9 is a number that is believed to be a significant number when it comes to Lost. Below is a list of appearances on the show, by episode chronology.
9 is a very common number, and many of the occurrences could be coincidental. See article: apophenia.

- The iteration for the french transmition played threw the numbers 17294531 to 17294535. (Pilot, Part 1) (Pilot, Part 2)

- Kate's mugshot had numbers on it reading "961136". Below those numbers are also listing

- When the Tailies landed on the other side of the island, the first time the other's took people from their group, they kidnapped 3 people. Two weeks later they came back and took 9 more. (Abandoned)
- The Tailies found a list of 9 people's names from their group on a list the other's had. (The Other 48 Days)
- Ana's squad car is number 809. (Collision)
- One of the numbers of the combonation to unlock the armoury in the hatch was at one time 29. (The 23rd Psalm / The Hunting Party)

Extra Info On The Number 9

- The Losties crashed on the island on September 22, 2004 (9/22/04)
- With the number 108, you can take (1 + 0 + 8 = 9)
- (DI 9FFTR731) is a code that appears on many of the items from the Swan. On one of the items it reads: 960VKKS, and the one on the right reads: PL390.
- These two codes also appear in the same location on the DHARMA manuals which have the main code DI 90M1654-21644.
- There are 9 different DHARMA stations on the island that both we and and the Losties know about at this point in time.
- If you go to oceanic-air.com and take a look at the seating chart for flight 815, it lists 352 seats. If you count the seats, there are actually 361 total. Now this may be because the flight attendands aboard, but if you want to throw numbers into it, thats 9 extra seats, and if you take the sum of the lotto numbers 108 and add the three together, 1+0+8=9. Just some more statistics that are a little off.
