A New BeginningEdit

In the final flashforward, Robert asks about several people (John, Rose, Libby, Sammy, and Jim) and why they aren't present. John is John Linus, son of Ben and Annie. Rose is Rose Dobson, daughter of Chris and Janelle. Libby is, of course, Elizabeth Hume, daughter of Desmond and Penny. Sammy is Samantha Goldman, daughter of Ryder and Dawn. Jim is James Straume, son of Miles and Rachel.
Originally, the flashes of the finale were going to be all flashforwards of Robert, Aaron, Ji Yeon, and Charlie, leading up to the revelation in the final flashforward that it was the children of the Losties as adults. These flashforwards would have incorporated John, Rose, Libby, Sammy, and Jim.
