This page references future episode titles. All other information is speculative.
This is my attempts to guess the ending based on episode titles and possible centricities. For instance, if you suppose that a certain character will get the centric, then you can assume a lot of the plot/action will revolve around them and what they're capable of doing given their personality and surroundings.

Centricities
Edit
The Last Recruit
Edit

Added by ObiDanKenobi5The focus on this episode will likely be someone who Flocke needs to recruit to his side. Right now, everyone he had needed is in his camp, with the exception of Jin, who is already at their destination. Ben, Richard and Miles are not with Flocke, possibly meaning one of them still needs to be recruited.
Lapidus
Edit
- Even though they can likely make do without (by using Jack to fly or take the Sub), Flocke likely needs Lapidus to fly them all out.
- He was brought to the Island and hasn't had a purpose the second time. (The first time, his purpose was also to get people off the Island, that could be his "ability".)
- He's been a main character for a while now, but not a lot is known about him. He's been on the sidelines often.
Not Lapidus
- He already seems to be "recruited" as he's with Flocke now. (But maybe Flocke has to convince him of his duty, which doesn't seem like it would be hard to do since everyone basically wants off the Island.)
Ilana
Edit
- She just died, so it would be poetic to now have a centric episode for her.
- Hurley may be able to talk to her, so she would still be around.
- She could be David Shepard's mother, answering that question in her flash-sideways.
Not Ilana
- She's dead.
- Her flash-sideways has no reason to matter to us.
- She would likely never be "recruited" by Flocke, and was already recruited by Jacob. So, she can't be The Last Recruit.
Miles
Edit
- He has an ability, making him "special", so he could be needed by Flocke simply for that.
- His ability could be needed to reveal some important information to Flocke in order to get off the Island.
- He is currently aligned with Richard, meaning he could still be "recruited" by Flocke, as the title implies.
- He would be able to reveal what happens to Kate after she was arrested by Sawyer.
- He would get to follow up on the glimpse we had of his father from the last episode.
Not Miles
- What They Died For is likely a better title for a Miles-centric episode.
The Candidate
Edit

Added by BalkOfFameThis episode will likely focus on the person who becomes The Candidate. Jack and Locke, as perhaps the show's two greatest protagonists, would each be a good fit. Sawyer and Hurley could also work well.
Jack
Edit
- He is essentially the main character and should become The Candidate.
- Through his experiences on The Island, and in large part with the help of John Locke, he has grown into a more suitable person for taking over the role of Jacob.
- It's likely for Jack to get two centric episodes in the same season.
- Jack centric episodes were three after the Season 1 premiere and three before the Season 1 finale. He had one three after the Season 6 premiere, and The Candidate will be three before the Season 6 finale.
- Since he's a doctor in an LA hospital, he can fill us in on what happens to Sun and/or Locke in the FST.
- He can answer the question about David Shepard's mother.
- If she is Juliet, he can also answer the questions about what the OT Juliet may have seen of the FST, prompting her near-death remarks to Sawyer.
Locke
Edit
- He would be most suited for taking on the role of Jacob.
- Becoming a candidate could resurrect him, or his resurrection could happen making him a candidate for The Candidate again.
- His flash-sideways would answer the question about what happens to him after Desmond hits him with the car.
Not Locke
- He's dead and crossed off The Candidate list.
- He already had a centric episode.
Sawyer
Edit
- Flocke plans on using him to get off The Island by having him become The Candidate and make the choice to leave.
- Even if Jack, Hurley, Locke or someone else is meant to become the New Jacob, Sawyer could still become The Candidate, as it doesn't necessarily make it official, but only means "this is the person that's going to become the New Jacob now".
- He can show us what happens to Kate after being arrested.
Not Sawyer
- He had a centric episode fairly recently.
- The Candidate will likely be a "good" guy.
Hurley
Edit
- He has stepped into the leadership role, and is a truly good guy, meaning he could become The Candidate.
Not Hurley
- He had a centric episode too recently.
Across the Sea
Edit

Added by Charles KaneThis episode may focus on the grander scheme of things, incorporating elements off-island, in the past and related to the overall, controlling mythology of The Island and The Rules.
Widmore
Edit
- Across the Sea could be a reference to England, which, in relation to the US is across the sea. The US is often referred to by the English as being across the pond. Widmore is English.
- He's a side character whose episode centricity could come as a curveball to us.
- Being late in the game, it's time to answer important questions. Aside from Hawking, Widmore is the only "regular person" who seems to know what's going on.
- His flash-sideways could reveal some more about Desmond's quest, and possibly Eloise's reactions to it.
Not Widmore
- He's too minor of a character.
Eloise Hawking
Edit
- She is also British, so if across the sea is a reference to England, it could be about her.
- She seems to, in the FST, know even more than Widmore about everything, so could provide valuable answers and information.
- She is likely not happy about Desmond's actions by this point in the FST and may do something about it.
- Though she's off the Island, her narrative could be all in off-Island flashes from OT to FST, or may include flashbacks like Richard's centric episode this season, giving us more insight into the history of The Island and The Rules.
Not Eloise
- She is not on The Island.
- She's too minor of a character.
Claire
Edit
- She's been a longtime main character and has yet to have a centric this season.
- Across the sea could be a reference to her being in LA in the FST, which is across the sea from Australia, her home country.
- We can get some answers about Aaron perhaps.
Not Claire
- She's been turned into a kind of minor character.
What They Died For
Edit

Added by ObiDanKenobi5This episode likely gets everyone situated for the final showdown, putting them all where they need to be to play out the ending. In doing so, it will likely have a more reflective feel as a lot of time will be spent traveling by the various parties/groups and leaving/joining other parties/groups.
Miles
Edit
- He's a main character now and needs a centric episode.
- Being a reflective episode, he can use his ability to commune with the dead.
- His ability fits well with the episode title.
- He can fill us in on what's going on with Kate and Sawyer in the FST, as well as his dad and Charlotte.
- He may be able to give us the most FST connections, helping with the set up for the showdown in that timeline as well.
Not Miles
- He may be too minor to be the centric right before the finale.
Kate
Edit
- She had the episode after the Season 1 premiere and before the Season 1 finale. She also had the episode after the Season 6 premiere, and What They Died For will be the episode before the Season 6 finale.
- She can let us know what happens with her arrest, touch on Sawyer and Miles and possibly even Claire and Aaron.
- The title sounds like a Kate episode, being remorseful.
- She is a murderer.
Not Kate
- Giving her another centric episode this season would mean we would miss out on another character, like Ilana, Widmore or Eloise.
- Nobody likes her.
Final Conclusions
Edit
Juliet will be David's mother
Edit
Because the meaning of Juliet's dying words and thoughts are still a mystery, this is something that will need to be wrapped up soon. And David's Mother is also a mystery needing an answer. We'll probably have a Jack centric episode, most likely as The Candidate (since he should be The Candidate as he's the main character of the entire series and the timing coincides with the first season's centricities).
More to come....
