The tough Moroccan and Mr. Eko met and discussed a drug deal in which Eko offered to pay 50,000 dollars for this man to perform "a favor." The favor involved moving a large amount of heroin out of the country, and Eko explained the only way to do that was to fly out using a United Nations Aid or Catholic Missionaries plane. After he and his associate agreed on the deal, he told Eko that he believed he had no soul. In response, Eko took out his knife and killed both men. Accompanying the men was a young boy, whom Mr. Eko let live.
