  3. Illogical or previously disproven.
  4. Proven by canon source, and moved to main article.

    • Ben knew Tony would fail, because he knows Sayid.
      • Sayid once took out one of Ben's men

        • Ben's not stupid.
    • Ben told Tony to capture Sayid and also gave him Kate's address.
      • I say 'capture' because in recent episodes, no one after Sayid has used lethal force.
      • Ben may have 'planted' Kate's address on Tony without Tony's knowledge.
      • Ben may have asked Tony to meet someone there.
        • Notice that Kate's name is NOT on the slip of paper.
      • Ben may have asked Tony to get Kate, just in case Tony was better than Ben thought.
    • Ben knew that after subduing him, Sayid would check Tony's pockets.
      • This is standard procedure for Sayid.
      • Ben wants either Sayid or Jack to talk to Kate about going back.
    • Ben knows plan A for getting Aaron & Kate is not working.
      • The lawyer thing just caused her to run.
        • Standard procedure for Kate.
        • Ben should have known that.
      • Ben can't confront Kate alone.
        • Kate trusts Ben about as far as she can throw a wet cat in the lake.
        • Jack or Sayid talking to Kate about returning to the Island might soften her some.
      • Ben apparently is not aware that Sayid's no longer on his side.
        • He was genuinely shocked to learn Sayid was with Hurley's father.
        • The conversation the two had briefly after Tony indicates Sayid's hiding true opinions from Ben.
    • Ben purposefully used Tony to launch a Plan B to get Kate on board, knowing he'd fail.
      • This is known in chess as a 'pawn sacrifice.'
