Theories

Tom was a DHARMA Initiative employee who worked at the Motor Pool. He was working on one of the blue DHARMA vans, when Jim LaFleur asked him about Juliet. He pointed out where she was working underneath one of the other vans. ("LaFleur")

He may have been killed along with other members of the DHARMA Initiative in the Purge, or he may have left the island sometime between 1977 and The Purge.
