"The Fall of Man" is an orchestral piece on the season 6 soundtrack. It is the theme for the Man in Black in his original form and represents his wanting and ultimate failing to leave the Island.

Main appearanceEdit

The Man in Black reveals to Richard that he is the black smoke. He dodges Richard's other questions though, and pushes him to kill Jacob, saying it's the only way to again see his wife.

Richard walks to the ruined statue. Jacob spots him, and the two fight until Jacob disarms Richard.

Besides its own theme, the piece includes the Others' main motif and a variation on Richard's theme.

Title significanceEdit

In religion, the Fall of Man refers to humanity's turning from God, specifically the story of Adam and Eve. When the piece plays last, the Man in Black falls off a cliff.
