The Searcher is a private sea vessel belonging to Penelope Widmore. The crew consists of some Portuguese speaking men. The ship found the Oceanic Six, as well as Desmond Hume and Frank Lapidus, in the South Pacific Ocean on December 31, 2004, reuniting lovers Penelope and Desmond after years of separation. ("There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3")
The Oceanic Six deliberated adhering to, and ultimately agreed to adhere to, "the lie" on board the boat before returning to the mainland. ("The Lie")
After the rescue of the Oceanic Six, Penelope and Desmond left the Searcher and continued a seafaring life aboard "Our Mutual Friend," a sailboat that they share.
