"The Rockets' Red Glare" is an orchestral piece from the Season 6 soundtrack.

Scene descriptionEdit

The Temple Others hurry to safeguard the sanctuary from the Man in Black. They hurry people into the Temple, stamp out fires and spread ash around the compound. They they send a red rocket into the air.

At the statue, the Man in Black covers his victims. He confirms he's the monster, though he objects to the name, and he shares John Locke's last thoughts. He then explains his goal: to go home.

InfluencesEdit

The first movement is a variation on the Temple theme. The second begins with FLocke's theme and includes a section of Locke's third theme before returning to FLocke's theme.

Title significanceEdit

The title references a line from the Star Spangled Banner, America's national anthem.
