"The Looking Glass Ceiling" is an orchestral piece on the Season 3 soundtrack. It plays during the season finale.

Scene description

Bonnie radios Ben, who sends Mikhail to the Looking Glass.

Back at the camp, the Others approach the marked tents. Sayid and Bernard successfully detonate their dynamite piles, but Jin misses and the Others take him hostage, then capturing Sayid and Bernard as well.

Full list of appearances

  • Ana Lucia fights with Goodwin. ("The Other 48 Days")
  • Michael runs from an ambush by Tom and Pickett. ("Three Minutes")
  • Sayid, Bernard and Jin spring their trap at the beach camp, but fail to kill all of the Others. ("Through the Looking Glass, Part 1")
  • In a Previously on Lost recap, Charlie receives a call from Penny at the Looking Glass station. Naomi attempts to call her freighter, but Locke throws a knife into her back before she can complete the call. ("The Beginning of the End")

Influences

The piece begins with a blend of the Others' motif and Ben's theme. Ben's theme plays afterward. It later plays its own motif.

Title significance

The title refers to the Looking Glass and the metaphorical glass ceiling that prevents women from advancing. Two women, Greta and Bonnie, appear to be stuck working in a literally and figuratively low position.
