The Fray is an American rock band that was used in a 2008 promotion by ABC that included a tie-in with Lost in the form of a music video incorporating their new single "You Found Me" with preview clips from the upcoming Season 5. The video also contained flashes of a logo for a company previously unknown in the Lost storyline, Ajira Airways, possibly as a tie-in to the recently-ended ARG, the Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project.
A one-minute promotional video was broadcast on November 20, 2008 during an ABC television commercial break for the program Grey's Anatomy. The promo also directed viewers to the full three-minute video clip available at ABC.com as well as the iTunes download purchase of the song itself, which began radio promotion on November 21.
ABC also plans to use the song as further promotion for the upcoming Season 5 of Lost, as well as other promotions.[1]
In early 2009, the section "The Fray" was added to the "Features" section of the Lost part of the ABC web page. This section, as well as the video player for Lost related clips, added the video for The Fray's song Never Say Never (Don't let me go), although this video was the standard one which included no content from Lost.
Fray is composed of vocalist-pianist Isaac Slade, drummer Ben Wysocki, and guitarists Joe King and David Welsh. Fray is known for previously also using television co-promotion (with Greys Anatomy in 2006), which propelled the band and the song, How to Save a Life into a hit, and the album into a double platinum seller.[2]
