Talk:Walt Lloyd

I put a link to the reversed clip of Walt's speech at the bottom of the page so people could listen for themselves and avoid the confusion from "although some theorize." I tried to upload the file directly to the wiki, but it only accepts images. Rsalerno 02:04, 18 December 2005 (PST)
Whatever
I believe that Walt is a red herring, much like the numbers. That he is not "powerful" or has any "special psychic powers". He's just a kid, caught in a bad situation.
As for Walt being kidnapped on the boat. Well the others like kids.....just for what we do not know.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Monicaga (talk • contribs) .
Its Possible, but...
The fear in his adoptive father's face when he went to Michael asking him to take Walt back leads me to believe that there's more "things" that happened before the flight, and we'll likely see them in upcoming flashbacks (though based on recent spoilers, likely not until Season 3)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Circeus (talk • contribs) .
Pics
Dont suppose anyone would be good enough to add pictures for all these supposed things, such as walt appearing as missing on the milk etc... not only for this instance, but perhaps them all?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.115.236.243 (talk • contribs) .
Bramme 07:02, 21 May 2006 (PDT) I have added a picture of Walt as seen in the jungle by Shannon and Sayid
Can anyone find a good quality image of Walt for the main picture? Im struggling to find one. He's either squashed or stretched. Gracielou01
Its OK now I found one.Gracielou01
Powers
Theres lots of pointers to Walt having some latent powers.
The bird and what his adoptive father says, weather clearing when his dad says he'll look for the dog when it stops raining, his reaction to touching Locke, luck with dice, etc.
Now he seems able to project himself to the others and lead them either into danger or an attempt to warn them of danger.
Since the whispers happen when he appears could it be there is a psychic element to him... and possibly the others who were taken.
The Others seem to really want him too. They go out of their way to use a boat to collect him.. they also scupper the boat which ensures the island does not become the centre of attention.
Maybe the project on the island is all about mind powers. Kids are believed to generate psychic power and teenage angst is said to manifest as poltergeist activityin extreme cases and subsides when the child ages.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.152.46.79 (talk • contribs) .
He communicates with his dad via the Terminal Computer with amazing timing. Could it be he was using the PC remotely with his mind. That he is now linked into a computer network or just able to interface or use one with his mind without the normal interconnectivity. User:MRNasher
He 'made' the polar bear because Michael wasn't paying enough attention to him, he was in charge of the situation the whole time. He chose a polar bear because of the comic book.
- Did he also make the polar bear that Sawyer shot? Why? AndFound 15:45, 14 May 2006 (PDT)
It's an APPLE II! :) Would save me a lot of time to be able to IRC with mind powers. --skks 18:15, 9 March 2006 (PST)
He could be a sort of teleporter. Ms. Klugh asked Michael if he has ever seen Walt where he shouldn't have been. I think that refers to Shannon's Walt sightings. Captain Insano
Talking Backwards
On the article for Walt, it lists what Walt was saying when he made his two supernatural apperances -- "Push the button. Don't push the button. Bad". & "They are coming and they're close." but it does not specify in the article that walt was speaking backwards at the time. This is important information if true. I didn't add it because I'm not certain.. can anyone else verify/edit??? --Cogito ergo 01:33, 17 April 2006 (PDT)
- That part of the article is pretty sketchy, especially as the clip on the external link doesn't sound like "Push the button. Don't push the button. Bad". It could sound like alot of things. To me I thought it was anyone of these:
- "Don't push the button. No button spare"
- "Don't push the button. No button's there."
- "Don't push the button. No button's bad.".
- "Don't push the button. Don't put in the spare."
- The last one is possibly the most intriguing but hopefully that's something that can be cleared up in the future. Age 15:12, 10 May 2007 (PDT)

Last name
- Is Walt's last name Lloyd or Porter?
Lloyd I think.
It seems like walts (malcoms) voice hasnt changed at all since he was kidnapped, however he is clearly taller. I dunno why but i get the impression that there was some sound/pitch editing going on there. Maybe its part of the plot. He couldve been in the life extension project. Plus TPTB said that his growth would be explained in the show. just a thought DeGroot
- I personally think that was a foiler from TPTB. If you watch his late season 2 appearances, yes his voice sounds manipulated to sound younger, and they shot him so that you couldn't tell his height. I think if he shows up in season 3 or 4 they'll continue that trend and just use him sparingly. They can always just get him a bigger shirt so he still looks like he's swimming in it like he did when he left on the boat.--Jeff 13:28, 19 March 2007 (PDT)
Where was he?
Where has Walt been all this time? Now, yes, we saw him at the Other's Camp at the dock, but remember Walt (or seemingly Walt) communicated with Michael on the Swan Station computer. This was I think most probably through the DharmaTel network on the island. This means, if we take the straight lines connecting the stations on the Blast Door Map that Walt was either at; The Flame; "?"; or C3. Probably not the "?." My intuition says also not the Flame. C3 is drawn in dotted lines on the map, which I think indicates that not much information was gathered on this location. The topography on the map corresponding with C3 also makes sense, looking rocky and possibly coastal. Also "road or other route of travel" is written to the top-left of C3, which could imply the docks. The problem is that the station doesn't seem to exist behind the entry doors. The Swan and the Cadecus both seem to have escape hatches, so maybe the Others are using that to enter and exit the hatch. Or, perhaps, Walt have been moved around, previously the Flame, the Pearl at "?" (unlikely since Locke and Eko uncovered so much dust) or maybe C3 isn't the location of the fake hatch but Walt has previously been there? Any thoughts? Has this been discussed before? Two Coyotes 19:47, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
- There's never really been any clear (or even vague) indication of where Walt was during his absence. He could've been anywhere, really, and we don't really know anything about any of the other stations on the map. So we could guess, but... at this point, there's just no information to guess with. :) --Shodan1138 20:15, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
Walt's Clone
This "Walt" cannot be a clone. Cloning is not like photocopying. Not even Dharma could clone a 10-yr-old to an identical twin in 66 days! Given that, the response of Walt on the boat was somewhat delayed and restrained. Maybe Malcolm just isn't that great an actor.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Invertebrat (talk • contribs) .
- The producers have said the word "clone" will never be uttered on the show, see season 3/prespoilers—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Two Coyotes (talk • contribs) .
Walt "joining" the Others
Faux Henry Gale mentions that "We got more than we bargained for when Walt joined us." This is interesting language because he doesn't say, "when we took walt." In an earlier episode, I would like to ascertain which one, Walt is very adamant about leaving the island. Perhaps the Others contacted Walt at an earlier date, and got him to go in on a plan with them. Take the boat out, get it destroyed so they stop trying to escape (maybe even why he burned the boat down the first time) and let us capture you. This may be out there, but Walt and Henry's language struck me as strange and I feel that there has to be a reason behind it, even if the reason is that I don't have a life.--Two Coyotes 06:49, 28 July 2006 (PDT)
-- Seems consistent that Henry Gale and the Others believe that other "good" people will naturally want to "join" them once they have a chance to learn what their objectives are. Since the Others (most of them, anyway) appear to be willing participants in whatever is taking place in their cult-like society, they would have persuaded themselves that people are joining them of their own free will and not through means of brainwashing or coercion. -- lanespix
Unanswered questions
I believe that the following uanswered question shouldn't be here and are totally NON-Canon, I'll display them: Is Walt the love child of Mr. Eko and Rose? While missing, did Walt get to ride the mysterious Luck Dragon from the Neverending Story? Is "WALT" an acronym for Wild African Love Triangle? . If general approval I'll or someone else will erase them.--fratom 11:01, 17 October 2006 Fratom
Further information
"His birthday (8/24) contains the numbers, but the 24 could be 42 in reverse, as his speech is done in reverse."
I'm sorry but this is just silly. Why put that!?

Theories page
I've noticed the addition of the Theories page added to most of the entries' main page. Should one be added for this entry (since the newer format does not include theories in the main entry or as answers to "Unanswered Questions")? Hazel 21:40, 9 February 2007 (PST)
- Hi Hazel, all the main pages have a new tab at the very top called "Theories". I also went ahead and added a link in the "Unanswered questions" section for Walt Lloyd. Best of luck, -- Dagg talk contribs4 8 21:46, 9 February 2007 (PST)
Last name
Is there any particular reason we assume Walt's last name is still Lloyd? He was adopted by Brian Porter. His surname would almost certainly be Porter not Lloyd.
First name said on the show
I don't think this is true either. Right before Michael calls Walt's name, Jin is heard calling Sun's name. It's just not as obvious because he's using her full name, with given name first, as is common in Asian cultures. Andreabt 20:58, 26 May 2007 (PDT)
Confirmed S4?
Has Malcolm David Kelly been confirmed for season four?
- Michael has been confirmed, but no word on Walt yet. Although i'd imagine that he would have to be in it somewhere, even if it's just a flashback explaining what he did after the events at the end of Season 2.--Baker1000 16:20, 2 August 2007 (PDT)
The problem with Walt is that the actor is now growing too old to realistically portray him, bearing in mind that only weeks have passed since the crash. Producers have confirmed however that we will definitely hear of him again, "but that we're gonna have to be patient" (Wikipedia). So we'll see Walt again but not necessarily in S4 and not necessarily played by Malcolm David Kelley (who is now 16 years old!)...--Oliverdevor 16:20, 19 January 2008 (PST)
- The producers have said that Walt's growth will be addressed on the show, so they might have an explanation for why he has grown up, and weave it into the fabric of the show. --Sam McPherson 12:18, 23 January 2008 (PST)
- Do we know for sure that was a different actor last night, and not reusing old footage or special effects trickery? --Minderbinder 09:21, 21 March 2008 (PDT)
- I originally thought that taller ghost walt was just another actor change that the characters would ignore, but they worked that into the plot too. Billytrousers 09:50, 21 March 2008 (PDT)
Order "On the Island/After The Island"
Does anyone else think that it makes no sense to list Walt's off-island scenes in "Meet Kevin Johnson" after his island appearance as Taller Ghost Walt in "Through the Looking Glass"? I'd suggest to add a new "back on the island" section.--Nevermore 03:59, 21 March 2008 (PDT)
Returning to the Island?
Ben wants everyone to return back to the island right? Well, why is Walt not included? Seems to me that he should be, since he was a survivor of the crash just as much as Hugo or Jack. Also, if Locke's dead body has to return, then what about Michael's body? --Katerdid 22:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)katerdid
Disambig for Walt
Shouldn't we add a disambig page for the name Walt? I know the only other person we know of in Lost named Walt is his grandfather (Mike's dad) and we don't know too much about him, but isn't this something we should have as being a lost encyclopedia? Tried searching for him but couldn't it just brings me here. I think it should still, but a link to a dismabig page maybe?-- SawBucks Talk Contribs 06:13, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
New Picture
I think the main photo for Walt is outdated and goofy looking. He's wearing those oversize clothes to make him look younger and I just think we can do better. Can anyone get a good screenshot of him in "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham"? I think that would look great and would really reflect where the character is right now in the story. So if anyone has a good photo please change it. Thanks. Brotha305 18:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
